03 Mar By the Lake, Vintage Style
Today was sunny and we decided to head out by the lake for pictures. I noticed this tree, and thought it was a great place for pictures. The first thought, however, was not to just look at the tree and think of it as a good place for shots, but rather ” boy, I would love to climb that! ” I am more of a tomboy, or have been as my husband and I met at a rock climbing class when I lived in Pittsburgh, PA. I thought, “I better get to know this guy if he is going to belay me and has my safety in his hands!” The rest is history. Although because of EDS I don’t get to climb anymore; I look for other ways of modifying activities.
I just love to be outdoors, and it was sunny, so I have been trying to think of a few poses. The hat I am wearing, that looks out of the 20s I bought in this neat artsy shop in Asheville, NC. My sweater dress is from Loft, a few years old, and the lace sleeves and neckline drew me in as it looked vintage and appealing. My navy handbag has ruffles on it, which adds more texture to the outfit. As you probably noticed, I am a fan of sweater dresses. The jacket was in another favorite green color and just the shape and style also looked vintage.

Posted at 12:18h, 03 MarchThank you Annette. Yes, it is a beautiful day outside. I loved the tree! Next time, I will take a close up more of my bag, as it has ruffles as well. The jacket is one of my favs as is the hat, I got it in a boutique in Asheville, an artsy place we like to go to . No, I will have to look at the vintage looks, I may have seen some. That is up my alley! have a good day.

Posted at 11:56h, 03 MarchI m so glad you were able to enjoy the sunshine, Jess! I love all the little details of your outfit: The ruffles, the necklace, laces and textured tights but especially your hat! Have you seen Catherine’s curls and vintage looks at Fever London? That style would suit you perfectly well too!
