Hello friends, As promised, I will be sharing more of my Taos and Santa Fe, NM vacation in Part II next week. Today, I am sharing my collaboration with fabulous NY designer, Lynn Ritchie. When I was contacted, I was quite excited, as I loved the chic and edgy cut out top I had seen on Dawn. I loved the style and wanted to choose something a bit outside my comfort zone. The black and grey plaid poncho stood out to me right away. I have a couple of ponchos and find them to be not only stylish, but comfortable.
I was to choose an outfit, so with the poncho, I chose this stylish black ponte mini skirt, with its fabulous pockets! Don’t we all love dresses or skirts with pockets? I would then choose the edgy cut out black top that I had seen previously. I would wear any of these pieces separately, styled with skinny jeans and Over the Knee Boots. Any of these pieces could certainly stand alone! I added some silver sparkle with my vintage brooches, the 1950s silver rose pin, and my favorite insect: the dragonfly. I had seen several “bug pins” in Santa Fe, when we went to Canyon Road, the artist asking over $1,000 per pin. Since I had just been traveling, these pieces would be great as part of a travel wardrobe for fall, adding a pair of leather pants to mix and match with the poncho and also the black top for a night out.
Lynn Ritchie has some very edgy, fashion-forward clothing in this fall collection. Pieces that can mix and match, and reversible pieces as well. What is wonderful is the ponte material and the being able to wash and wear her clothing. Lynn Ritchie makes fabrics that are comfortable, easy to wear, and figure flattering. Wear the cut out top with some dark denim and booties for an afternoon lunch, while pairing the same top with the ponte mini, block leopard heels and some statement earrings for a night out on the town. What I look for when adding to my wardrobe, is quality fabrics, and use of wear. Lynn Ritchie’s clothing has these qualities!
With my skin being fair, I decided to add the plum leather bag by Treesje, and the suede burgundy booties by Sesto Meucci. If may also pair this with a vibrant cobalt or emerald colored scarf to add more color closer to my face. As my friend Jodie pointed out as well, there is a button to close the poncho which is great, to keep it closed.
Outfit: Black and Grey Poncho ( XS) c/0 Lynn Ritchie, Ponte Mini skirt black c/0 Lynn Ritchie, Cut out black top ( XS) c/0 Lynn Ritchie ( sold out, love this) burgundy booties c/o Marmi Shoes, plum handbag; Treesje Designer bags. Pins: vintage .

October 27, 2016 at 8:27 amYou know what’s great about that poncho? It has a closure! I like ones that don’t have a closure too, but I find that they stay in place better with a button!!
The skirt is very unique—that’s what is so nice about finding designers and different stores—then not everyone has the same thing!!
You look fabulous Jess!

October 27, 2016 at 10:10 amJodie, so true! I need to include this in my write up. I usually will use a brooch to fasten a poncho if I need to. I do love items that not everyone is wearing. Thank you as always! xx
