16 Aug Turning Heads #Linkup-Karina Dress Collaboration: How to Transition from Summer to Fall: The Carolyn Vintage Inspired Dress
Hello Ladies!
I hope things are going well, and it is hard to believe that August is going this fast and soon Fall will be approaching. My favorite season without a doubt. All the things I associate with it, the mountains, hiking, camping, trees changing color, cool, crisp air, pumpkin spice everything! Charlotte has cooler temps really thoughout Sept-October, much different from Pittsburgh, where I used to live. Sept was when fall clothing was worn, October, coats. Here in Charlotte, I might just begin to wear a light jacket at the end of Oct-Nov. I thought I would take a ride out to Mooresville, a bit of an older town, with its own charm, and I loved this vintage mural.
However, when it comes to my closet, I have to think about transitional styling. The time between Summer and Fall. How do I take a dress that I might wear in the Summer and wear it in between these seasons? When I was notified about collaborating with Karina Dresses for Fall (I have collaborated in the past), I was gifted this Carolyn Dress and thought it a great opportunity to share how I would style it in between summer and Fall.
What I love about Karina Dresses, is that they are made in the USA, are great for packing on trips, easy to wear and have a vintage flair. I also love the fit. There is a Guide for body type and what dresses one might choose for that type. The Carolyn is similar to the Megan, with short sleeves, and twirl-able skirt, however the bodice and neckline has more coverage. I loved the colors in the dress and chose it for transitional reasons as well. Browns, rose, steel blue all would work beautifully!
Since it is still 90 degrees, I thought I would tell you how I would wear this transitioning between seasons. I styled it today with summer still in mind.
- I would wear my brown vintage stole and add one of my vintage brooches to “jazz up” the dress.
- A Rose shawl would also add some texture.
- Wear those pair of brown leather boots in an ankle boot with colored tights.
- Wear those knee high brown leather boots for a fall transition.
- A moto jacket is a great way to transition to Fall! I have a new Rose colored moto jacket that I would pair with this dress.
- Wear a wrap or a cardigan utilizing one of the colors, adding a favorite brooch or pin.
My Rose Moto jacket you will see me style in the Fall. Perfect with this dress! Brown vintage stole, vintage brooch, a favorite pair of ankle boots.

Your first photo made me smile. I thought, where’s Jess? Took me a second or two to see you against that incredible mural!

Posted at 13:53h, 16 AugustI just love fall–YES to pumpkin spice everything! I like to layer my outfits–I feel like it’s so much more interesting than summer. This is the time of year when I have to get creative since it’s still hot but I’m done with summer clothing. I like your ideas for styling that dress and your background was great!

Posted at 12:00h, 16 AugustThat how the weather is in the eastern part of North Carolina! Thick coats are not really needed until the dead of winter. So I think that is why I love fall so much more because you really do not have to wear thick layers. So I am looking forward to fall! I love your dress and the retro backdrop in the wall.

Ana from Mrs. American Made
Posted at 10:27h, 16 AugustGreat and timely post, Jess. I am thinking about which items can transition to Fall as well – even though it is quite warm here still. And I love your Karina! I have a few, too, of course, since Made in USA is my thing – and they are so easy to put on and wear and call the outfit done, but I love how you have styled each version. Hope you well, and enjoy the travels! : ) A

Posted at 10:37h, 16 AugustHi Anna! I know it is 90 degrees here, and I get tired of the oppressive heat! It starts to get chilly maybe end of October. It can be tricky to show fall fashions when it is still warm out! I knew you liked Karina as well and they are easy to wear. Thank you Anna, same to you! xx
