Let the Shoes or Boots Do the Talking

velvet blazer

Hello friends!

Weve now headed into March and can start looking for the flowers to bloom. Yes! Even though the calendar says March, it still is chilly in these parts! Have you ever started putting together your outfit from the ground up?

My Outfit

That’s what I did today. I hadn’t worn my mesh sheer and black booties by Cecilia New York in a while, and knew I wanted to style a casual look with them. They are mesh on the sides, and I like to change it up a bit at times, you can see HERE on THIS POST, where I wore fishnet sozks with them creating a different look to the booties. You know, Jerry Seinfeld was right when he talked about pairs of socks! Where do they all go! Not only my white socks, but my fishnet socks have seemed to made a getaway! I couldn’t find them when I styled this look.

Nevertheless, try creating a look based off of a fancy pair of booties or shoes that you love. What makes them special? Are they velvet, do they have alot of color, are they jacquard? Do they have fancy details like buckles or studs? I do love wearing beautiful footwear and can often have a vision of an outfit when I start with the shoes.

I wanted a look with black, although any color would work with these boots, I was feeling a bit of edge or streetstyle this day. I knew I wanted a black blouse in my outfit, but since I don’t wear much black, another color had to be added. Since I haven’t worn many of my velvet blazers this year, I took out my burgundy velvet blazer I found thrifted.

Are you excited for March and Spring? I know I felt better when the sun was out this weekend. When you don’t get enough Vit D it can have an effect on you. I am still shopping my closet this monrth, but look forward to adding a few things here and there in the coming months. I wil write a “wishlist” for Spring on the blog in the near future.

LOVE THESE BOOTS! I have been wanting a pair of mesh or some sort of see-through booties for the past few years but I just haven’t found the right pair yet. By the time I do, they probably won’t be in style anymore. Haha. I love styling an entire outfit around a pair of statement shoes and do it quite often. This outfit is wonderful and totally my jam! Great look, my friend!

It’s been sort of summer in our neck of the woods! I know everyone wants it to warm up already but I am a little sad that the cold is going away. I love how you styled your outfit Jess. Those booties are unique and how fun are they with those lace socks?! And I am usually not one for floral print bags but I adore this one you featured. It’s just the cutest and so eye catching!

      Hi Maureen!
I just need sunshine after awhile. I find it mentally tiring if it is grey or rainy often. Thank you! I did love the size and shape of the bag, that is what caught my eye. Have a great weekend Maureen!

Wow, you can really customize those booties with whatever socks you put underneath. I really like the texture of the black top, too. I’m like you–I don’t own any black at this point.

I love everything about this look but especially those boots! Great styling Jess! Hopefully spring weather is around the corner and the mesh won’t be a factor in getting your feet cold.

    Enjoy your week!

What a great idea – adding those fishnet socks to the booties creates such a unique look! It definitely feels like spring here, I opened the windows yesterday and it was glorious! I usually do create outfits from the ground up because I have an issue with shoes and comfort. Loving that velvet blazer on you too!
