09 Aug Turning Heads #Linkup-Foxcroft Collaboration: What Every Woman Needs- A Non-Iron Shirt Dress
Hello Ladies
I don’t know about you, but I love to iron. Give me a big stack of clothes and let me do my thing! I’m kidding, Im kidding! I am sure there might be a few ladies that do enjoy it, perhaps it is relaxing for some, like taking a bubble bath. However. I like to decide what I am wearing, get dressed and go! I like to feel like I have getting ready down to a bit of a science. So, when Foxcroft NY, contacted me about collaborating , I knew after seeing the Taylor Non-Iron Shirt Dress, that would be my choice, and what women could use in their closet. As through my experience, most busy women want less hassle when getting ready in the morning. So comfortable, the shirt dress is one of my favorites for easy dressing!
In addition to the appeal of this iron-free shirt dress, was the color (Serenity)as one of the Pantone’s Colors of the Year. I initially chose the pink version, however it was not available until October. No worries, as I decided then, to combine the colors of the year ( Rose Quartz:) and ( Serentiy) for this put together look. I took out my pink rose scarf, added my vintage pale pink circular vintage brooch and also added pink champagne tones with my Rockport pretty floral pointed flats. I wanted to combine the best of both worlds! For added texture, my faux crocidile Brahmin Bag would do the trick. . Yes, I would be happy with blue, as my recent linen dress purchase is long, and a darker shade, so there was enough of a difference to “say yes to the dress!” I needed to add more blue into my wardrobe, so this would be a great piece.
The shirt dress itself, ” owes its origins to the shirtwaist blouse, came about as part of the 1890s and the era of the New Woman. As part of the uniform of the the Red Cross , nurses and other practical jobs until it became more into fashion in the 30s and 40s, an extension of the men’s button down shirt.” *Wiki It is the perfect dress for ease of dressing. When one wears a shirt dress, there are many options I have mentioned here on the blog before. Wear it as a jacket over white jeans, style it with leggings. style it with a vest. For a more casual look, slip on shoes in metallic are trendy this season! I had decided to mix floral prints with similar colors, the pink shades in both the scarf and pointed floral flats.
What I love about Foxcroft is their wonderful service, as well as the many items they show that are staples in a woman’s wardrobe. Like this iron-free dress? Look at some of their wonderful iron-free button down shirts paired with jean leggings, that range in many different styles, colors and patterns.
Outfit Details: Iron-Free dress c/o Foxcroft , floral flats c/o Rockport, Blue Larimar Open Cuff c/o Larimar jewelry ( sim), Bag: Brahmin, Scarf: Macys, Pin: Vintage brooch. * c/o gifted items, opinions are all my own.

Posted at 01:42h, 10 AugustJess, I have to admit that I’m one of these strange creatures who actually enjoys ironing. However, I’m not averse to taking a day off, so a non-iron shirt dress like this seems like a great idea. I’ve got something similar lurking in my wardrobe so you’ve inspired me to pair it up with some leggings for a change. Love those cute shoes and the whole pink accessorising you’ve chosen. Lovely!

Posted at 09:46h, 09 AugustThis dress looks amazing on you! My issue isn’t ironing so much, as when you bother to take the time to iron, only to sit down and your a wrinkly mess again. UGH!

Posted at 09:29h, 09 AugustWow…Jess—thanks for picking my post for this!!
As for ironing—I actually use a steamer and 1-2 X a month, it’s a very zen habit!! I turn on the music and “play” with my clothes (although it happens to be more of my husband’s things–but that’s fine too)
Not that I don’t appreciate non-iron items!!
I love this dress—it’s so well fitted for you and don’t get me started about the shoes (sigh!!)
Absolute loveliness!!

Posted at 07:38h, 09 AugustJess, I love this dress! The length is perfect and I love the covered placket! You have styled it perfectly, too. I actually do not mind ironing, in fact, when the mood strikes I do find ironing quite relaxing. However, there are many days that I can’t be bothered and I rely heavily on my steamer! Actually, I use my steamer almost every single day! I love the brooch on your scarf and I have been trying to find ways to wear my brooches more often. It is not too heavy on the delicate fabric of the scarf? That is always my fear that I will ruin my scarves!
