07 Apr My Refined Style Linkup #7- The Power of Red- Block Heels and a Classic Pairing
Hello Ladies
Hard to believe we are in April. There is a fair amount going on around our neck of the woods. April, is as you know, Spring Showers. Not to good for blogger pictures. I suppose I need to find myself a fashionable umbrella, have a go at the 15 minute intervals where it may not rain, or trust on those sunny day reports. Anyhow, you do know that i love to wear color and t today I wanted to wear one of my favorite colors: Red. Happy to bring you the 7th My Refined Style Linkup.
I do not know who came up with the silly rule of redhead not wearing red, as I know or have seen plenty that look amazing in this color. Red, to me is a color that commands attention, has the wearer exuding confidence, and can make a powerful statement. Why do you think Stop Signs/lights are red? They make one stop, look around, take notice, become aware.
I know it this is a color combination that we are all familiar with, yet it is classic. First, the frilly button down shirt was a recent purchase, as I looked in my closet, and thought, why do I not own many button downs, especially white? This is and should be a staple. I am sure you know that I needed those frills. 🙂 The red midi skirt with pockets is one of my favorite skirts from Zara with a retro appeal and a classic silhouette. The new items I am sharing on the blog today are those red, strappy, saucy, sassy, round toed, block red heels. As I know you know, a heel can be tricky for me. I am trying these out. They have a thick 1.5 inch block heel with a rubber bottom, so we will see. The main aspect is that they do not cause me to tighten my leg muscles.. but let’s face it, I can’t stand long. So most of the shoes I wear like this I may walk from the car to the wine bar.. etc.. and then it is me sitting the rest of the time. If we do stroll around the area, I bring a pair of slip ons or sneakers.
Black, red, and white is a favorite pairing of mine and adding this funky, large necklace was the additional texture and bit of fun I needed to add ( as well as the shoes). I KNOW, the second pair of new shoes in a week. I have been going a little spring shoe crazy and think it is due to all of those years I couldn’t wear nice shoes but mostly sneakers. The straps, the faux croc and the square block heel had me going back to Zara’s site more than once or twice. So, these are keepers! I won’t be taking any long strolls with them, but I can go out to dinner and sit. As you may tell, it was just a tiny bit windy today, as you can see ,we have several pictures where I didn’t even need to move my skirt , the wind did it for me.

Your IG pic of the shoes made me realize that I need to get rid of my red shoes as I don’t really like them and get a fabulous pair of red shoes! I love the frilly blouse and the shape of the skirt is just beautiful. Great necklace, too!
