I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Even Charlotte had snow. Usually I am easily amused, as the local weatherman predicts this will be the “Winter Storm of ’17” when 2 inches falls on the ground. Being a Pittsburgher, I would usually laugh, nod my head and think, “THIS is the winter!” Well, it wasn’t the Winter Storm of ’17 this weekend, but it did snow as much as they predicted, 4-6 inches. It is always fun to see how the pups are going to react to snow, and Truffles did not disappoint! Truffles went out on the back deck, and just peed right there. No going into the yard , but just out and in. Gibson, was having fun frolicking around, typical boy! On to my outfit…
Today I wanted to wear my favorite poncho. I bought this thick, soft, colorblocked mustard, tan and brown sweater last year from Zara, and have only had the chance to wear it once. I have 2 ponchos in my winter wardrobe, and wondered when I put this on, why I don’t own more? They are easy to put on over an existing outfit for that extra layer, and make for a great look with skinny jeans, flares, or in this case, faux leather pants.
I love a monochrome look with ponchos too, an all black look with added color by adding a patterned or colorful poncho. Black trousers, turtleneck and boots become transformed with the addition of a poncho. Today I am wearing black faux leather leggings, my new ( Christmas present) tan suede booties from Mango, and black saddlebag that I have enjoyed carrying, from Rebecca Minkoff. Going out, I would wear this with another layer for warmth, either as a neutral look with my camel coat, or adding color with my Burgundy Banana Republic wrap coat.
Are you a fan of ponchos?
