01 Sep My Refined Style One Year Anniversary Linkup: Bodycon Orange Print Floral Dress- Pine Green Accessories

Hello Ladies! Today is a Special Edition of My Refined Style Linkup! It has been One Year! I have been happy to co-host with these lovely ladies and share my style and thoughts on fashion. Today I will talk a bit about what elements make mine a “Refined Style”. How do I refine my style?  By now, I am sure those of you who follow me, or know me, realize that I love dresses. The ease and comfort of a dress, a great fit, can’t be beat! You probably also know that I love to find unique accessories. I do love jewelry, be it, costume or vintage, and I love to style my looks with pieces that are unique, harder to find, original pieces.

Another aspect of my style has been finding the “right” shoes for me that look elegant, fun, and comfortable. Comfort is NOT a 4 letter word! I have discovered over the years, shoes that, despite my illness, I can wear and are more stylish. 10 years ago, I was only capable of wearing gym sneakers, today I can have fun shopping for shoes. Block heels are wonderful as they provide stability and at 1.5 inches, some height. ( I am already 5’9″) The reality is I can not walk in them at length, but I wear them out to enjoy a meal, have a glass of wine at the wine bar, to the movies.

Another way I have “refined my style” through the years is by adding lots of color to my wardrobe. I love color! It brightens my mood and also is very complimentary to my complexion, as I am familiar with colors that are more flattering. I do love all white looks in the summer, every once in awhile an LBD, but my favorite is to wear fun color. This orange floral dress by ASOS, has yellow, lavendar, pine green throughout and I decided to compliment it with some pine green accessories: my Zara necklace ( is pine green), vintage earrings and block bow heels from Modcloth.

I do love clothes that I can style in a classic, feminine way. Whether it be shorts, a dress, or jeans, whatever I am wearing, I want it to be elegant and classy. My favorite season is Fall to dress, and I look forward to the rich tones of the season, complimenting colors with my hair.

Here is an outfit that best describes my personal style. I love color, and feminine styles. The shape of this dress is fitted, I love a vintage inspired look with the color and v back. Dressing for my shape is part of my style as well as wearing shoes that are comfortable and stylish. The block heel, vintage inspired, is a versatile shoe! I do love my floral patterns as well!

I think this look reflects my personal style. Here I’m wearing all my favorite things: flared jeans, cool shades, and kick a** boots! I’m also loving revisiting the deep burgundy lipstick shades and black chokers of the 90’s!

Patti’s Style

Here is a recent picture that I thinks expresses features of My Refined Style. I like to mix dressy with casual, have a fun and funky piece as the eye-catcher, and use jewelry to help define the look. I always want my shoes to have a little personality, like these black booties. And I like to incorporate trends (e.g., cropped trousers) with classic silhouettes.

Trina’s Style (Our new co-host)

This bohemian style dress, which I’ve layered over a peasant blouse, and paired with lace up flats definitely defines my everyday style. I’m not afraid to layer, I feel comfortable running around in flats (even at my wonderful height of 5’3″) I am more likely to throw on a dress on any given day for just about any given occasion because it makes me happy! I feel truly confident in this little number and just a bit unique which is what makes us all that much more refined.
