28 Mar Review of ColdWater Creek Serenity Colored Dress with Vintage Inspired T-Strap Shoes
Hello Ladies
I hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Easter. .We went to a Vineyard, took the puppies and had a good time. There are a few that allow dogs, and we try and take advantage when it is nice outside. Service was great, as was a new grape, Chambourcin, a dry red varietal that is becoming more popular here. All was well, except for a few overly intoxicated women wanted to dog-nap my puppy Truffles. That is another story for another time. Easter made me think of all of the traditions in our family; Mass, Blessing the Baskets, getting together and I think hunting for Easter Baskets until we were about 25. Ha. Easter also reminds me of Spring, and today I am reviewing an talking about my dress from Coldwater Creek.
When Coldwater Creek approached me about reviewing an item on their site, I was excited as it was a familiar shop and I knew they had some lovely clothes. I was to choose two items from their site and they would send one. I initially chose this lilac blazer with all its embroidered style I thought would look wonderful adding a pretty pastel to white, a gorgeous spring shade to a dress , plenty of options. However, since this was unavailable, I chose to no surprise, a dress! Looking at their on-line site I fancied several dresses, such as the Table for Two dress, accentuating the waist and a staple piece. I also liked the printed Lavender Fields dress that was longer which I thought would look smashing for a wedding or just out for an afternoon lunch. However, the Floral Mesh Knit Dress caught my eye, in a periwinkle or “serenity’ color, I liked the vertical lines in the style of the dress, adding length and giving a lean look to the wearer. The mesh material made the dress very comfortable to wear and also light for warm weather. The pattern was subtle, tiny flowers with stems made the dress look delicate as does the length and flow of the dress. The fit was quite good, if not a little loose, and I am wearing an XS. I would also recommend a heel, albeit small or higher to give the legs length, continuing with the vertical line. Flats may be fine, but it may also look to shorten the legs as the dress comes inches past my knee. ( But I am 5 foot 9) I also HAD to share my new fancy footwear with you too! I loved the vintage look to these B.A.I.T shoes, as I love a pretty t-strap and the lavender color caught my attention for spring. Since they have a tiny wedge, they are do-able for me and fun to wear. Perhaps I will wear this outfit to my next Lindy Hop! 🙂
Coldwater Creek has some wonderful jackets for the season, and I also particulary liked this coral floral jacket and eyelet blazer as well. I plan on styling the dress in a number of ways, adding a white blazer with perhaps block heels for a classic look, a colorful cardigan and perhaps trendy slip on sneakers for a more casual look, with my hair in a pony-tail or chignon for the spring. Dresses are not only lovely but easy to wear, and this dress, will have multiple uses.
I paired it today with one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, gifted from Chaos NY, this metal and mesh wrist-art and my blusih-purple Brahmin bag to add more texture and interest to the look as well. The jewelry I chose was delicate, the earrings reminding me of a stained-glass window, and the pearls with the attached pin seemed the perfect piece to wear with this feminine look.
Here are some other pieces that I loved from Coldwater Creek/. Check them out! ( links above)

Posted at 05:23h, 28 MarchJess, the colour of this dress is so pretty on you!
Blue is definitely one of your (many) colours.
At 5 feet 6, I would either wear this dress with a (high) heel or get it shortened…probably the latter, then I could wear it with pumps/gutties etc.
You look fresh and spring-like and those shoes are indeed fun!
(I hope to see them again soon)
I am loving that bracelet too!

Posted at 09:49h, 28 MarchThank you Sam, this periwinkle color is one of my favorites. What are gutties? 🙂 If I could wear a higher heel I would have , but feel lucky to wear this small wedge. I am 5 foot 9, so I am cool with that> You will see the shoes many times I am sure, I have been obsessing over spring shoes and giving in lately. The bracelet was a collab I did with a NY company called Chaos NY, I chose it as it was so unique. Enjoy your week xo
