08 Dec Turning Heads #linkup-A Holiday Look with Lace,Fur+Giveaway!

Hello Ladies!

..Faux fur that is! I love it. Let’s just say I have a few stoles around the house, and a vintage caplet. I have liked this addition since, well a long time. I vaguely remember ( probably for good reason) a patchy shades of brown and  off-white faux fur, kind of 70s bomber jacket I wore when I was young. Now, this I would not recommend, unless, it IS  your thing.

What is it about lace and me? I don’t know, perhaps it is the feminine nature, the detail and intricate look. In case it is all of the above, as when I saw this skirt on Zara ( once of my favorite stores) the rich pine green color, short/long style of the skirt, and detail of the lace at the bottom really won me over.  Since I shop on-line, primarily, if I go back time and again to look at something, it means it has grabbed my attention and I probably want it or need it ( wink, wink) in my closet!

My excuse this time of year… Hmmm. Whats another $50? we have already bought X amount of gifts already… ( no, I am kidding, not a good way to think for one’s budget). Rather, I can find a lot of uses for this skirt, it is one of my favorite colors being in the green family, I can wear it to my husband’s company party for the holidays, etc. The company party this year will be on a boat, with dinner. Sounds like a good time! Taking me back to when my best friend and I used to dance on “the boat”, the Gateway Clipper ( for those Pittsburgers) when I was 16-18, something like that. We loved to dance, my friend Mara and I, those were good times.  I don’t think there will be dancing on this boat, or should I say for me, as standing can be a problem. I absolutely will not be one of those people who “seat dance” either. You know. The concert goer who is too embarrassed to stand up in a crowd full of people, but yet doesn’t mind doing the twist or pointing their finger in the air ( stayin alive move) !  I think there will be a sunset, an amazing meal, and conversation, along with wine, can’t forget that.

So, I want to wear this skirt, or a dress, but havent quite decided yet. I just loved it and the style, and for this look had the perfect cardigan to go with it. With the paisley print, and tan and black colors throughout, I added my vintage green brooch, 1928 earrings, and another favorite, my bronze Obaku watch.

It was nice today though, so we went out for some sushi and wine and one of our favorite wine bars. Since Charming Charlie is right next door, it would be only right of me to stop in! Hubby went in and quickly disappeared. Better to disappear than to hover, I guess! One of the sales ladies was making a fuss over my style, I thanked her, then we moved on to the wine bar. The waitress, told me she loved the fur, and I explained we were so used to bringing my shih tzus but since we couldn’t sit outside because it was cold, i had to have a little bit of fur, albeit faux,with me to remind me of them ,hehe.
