Turning Heads #linkup-Coral Blazer with a Watercolor Skirt, Red Flats

IMG_6922

Hello Ladies

Welcome back to #turningheadstuesday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. My mom is coming soon to visit in Charlotte, as my sister and I both live here, she in the South area, and us in the North. My little niece Makaila, who started kindergarten this year, will enjoy seeing Grandma too. More on her in another post, as she is like a little mini-me at 5 years old, loving dresses and florals, long hair and jewelry.  My mom is making her rounds to visit all of us for longer periods. I am looking forward to it. I always find it funny however, that as soon as relatives come, it is time for Spring Cleaning! My mom has a very impressive and beautiful garden in Pittsburgh, the neighbors find the landscaping and design a great addition to the house. So, I always feel i need to go out and get some plants, spruce up the yard and the house. I, however, do not have a green thumb. I do love to see  flowers and the butterfly bush with the colors and reminders of Spring. I just think it is funny, I am sure when our neighbors see bushels of pine needles, trays of flowers, or newly planted bushes, they know someone is coming to visit!

Just as we are planting new flowers and getting our home spring ready, I am doing the same with my closet. The florals are arranged, dresses sorted and winter clothes are stored away. Hoping to get us all in the Spring mood today with the outfit I put together. I find coral is one of those universal colors. A color that works with all skin tones. This jacket, by The Limited, was another $25 steal I found on Ebay. The seller still had the tags on it. I reached for one of my most colorful skirts in my closet with tones of rust, coral, hint of baby blue, and reds throughout. Not as much of a floral skirt, but more like a painter took watercolors to it.  The match of the blazer and skirt is like an explosion of colors warranted by this time of year.  I have purchased these block heels by Zara, in red , and would wear them with this look, but I had not received them yet. I then, reached for one of my favorite pairs of shoes I was gifted when I worked with Marmi shoes, these Vanelli red snakeskin print flats with a bow. They are quite cushioned, and who doesn’t love a pair of red shoes?

Today’s look was all about color. Vibrant color. To me, when I reach in my closet, most often what I wear is determined by mood. I want this colorful look to cheer up, to bring some sunshine to my day.  I hope it does yours!

Thank you Jess for the link up party again. You look like a true vision of Springtime! The coral colour against you skin is beautiful and how lucky are you to have such a wonderful floral skirt that matches so well. Bare legs at this time of year in the UK – it’s out of the question. How lucky you are!

      Hi Jodie
We moved from Pittsburgh years ago, almost 13 years now, as I grew up there and couldnt take any more of the cold, grey or snow. WE had some pretty warm days lately.so I was fortunate to wear this skirt and not be cold. Glad you like the look! 🙂 xx

Oh Jess I’m so envious of your beautiful spring outfit and bare legs – it’s still freezing in the UK!!!!!! This morning was only 5C (about 40F) and it’s not going to get much over 9C (48F) during the day… Aaaargh I’m so cold! In the meantime I’ll admire your gorgeous watercolour floral skirt and keep myself wrapped in a blanket…!
