I hope you had a nice Memorial Day Weekend. ( those in the US) I have been visiting relatives and it took 11 hours by car with my 2 doggies to get there~ Once we were there, we had a good time. Good company, food, wine, sitting outside in the sunshine. The pups were little angels not crying or wimpering at the long drive. Patient little pups.
Anyhow, I cannot take credit for this dress. Not exactly. It wasn’t sent to me either, like part of the “Girl with the Traveling Pants”( ahem, dress). You saw it on Ana of Ana’s Island Style, and I loved the geometric, almost 3 dimensional look with those blue-green and purple-blue hues striking a chord with me! Usually, I see something I like on someone, often my luck is it is out of stock, there is no more in my size, I can only find it in Iceland… you get the drift. However, the day I saw it on her, I decided I would buy it.
To my good fortune, it was not in a far away country, but rather at H&M online. I bought it on-line and when I received it I was quite pleased. It is made quite well, and the fit seemed to be on par, albeit just a bit big in the hips, but nothing to fret over. Going with the geometric shapes, I decided I would look for a piece of jewelry that not only highlighted the color in the dress but was unique and had an interesting shape itself. I had collaborated with Sylca Designs twice in the past, and knew that their eco-friendly bold statement necklaces would do the trick. I found this piece there, and the cobalt blue crescent shape is quite unique with light reflecting dimension along with its silver sides. The irridenscent light reflecting continues with my blue ASOS block heels you have seen here on the blog before. I have several jackets I would wear with this if I want to style it differently. A purple blue fitted, a steel blue moto jacket are some examples.
Now, if this isn’t a bit of a fashion stretch for me…. I wanted to try something fun, unique, yet also be flattering in shape and colors. I have several jackets that I can wear as another option to dress it up more, will share that in that future. I am out of town a bit visiting relatives but was able to get this post ready in advance.
