Turning Heads Linkup- Holiday Hairstyles

img_3326

Hello Friends

Here we are, just 5 days before Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing my brothers, mom, and pups. It will be a good time. Mom sent me the meals and appetizers we are having for Christmas Eve and Christmas and Mmmm. they sounds delicious! I love smoked salmon, crab dip, fondue etc. . Myself and sister in law are in charge of the Holiday Cocktails, and I found a great list at delish.com. I think we are making the Gingerbread Egg Nog White Russian!  Ill be sharing our Holiday pic, but here is one of the pups in their Santa Suits that they’ll be wearing Christmas eve. For today, let’s talk about hair!

img_5520

Anyhow, I thought I would change it up today and share a few different hair looks for the Holiday. I also thought I would share some of the products I use to keep my hair healthy. The first look is what I like to do if I am going out. I use hot rollers and keep them in while I am doing my makeup.  Two birds… I thought I would share 2 previous pics when i used hot rollers. I use Joico, AG, various shampoos as I like to try different salon brands.

Loose curls- Just the hot roller curls brushed out a bit more 🙂

img_5872loosecurls

Body and Curls with Hot rollers. I keep them in for 30 minutes as I do my makeup. My hair is fine, so this gives it a lot of needed volume  I also use Kerastase Nectar Thermique as a heat protectant and Kerastase Beautifying Oil as a serum foLook two: This is not a difficult look, but two steps, especially if you have fine hair. I have fine hair, just a lot of it! I will curl my hair with hot rollers, then put it in a curled ponytail. Add a large clip with jewels for a festive look!

hair1kerastase2

The Festive Ponytail- After my hair is curled with hot rollers, I put it back in a ponytail. Add a large clip with jewels or sparkles. This vintage clip is from Etsy. There was rain today so its a little bit frizzy, I’d use a serum for less frizz, but you get the picture! 🙂 I love peacocks as a close second to dragonflies! Here are some other great peacock clips: HERE, HERE , HERE and HERE

img_5849

The Bun. I take previously curled hair in a low ponytail. The hair is then pulled through the large donut. Spread out the hair to cover the donut so only the hair shows. Put another elastic band around the donut to hold the bun in place. Add a jeweled come or clip to the hair for a holiday look. Spray with hairspray to hold hair in place. Takes 15 min. I would use more hairspray next time for any fly aways. 🙂

Love these  jeweled clips and combs:  Etsy Love this, this, this,  and this.  Found on Etsy.

You have the most beautiful hair Jess!. The soft curls in the first photo are so pretty. I keep meaning to try out heated rollers or a curling wand. I get a bit bored with the same style, but I’m desperate to get my cut at the moment. I’m hoping my hairdresser can fit me in between Christmas and New Year!

You have the most beautiful hair Jess, I have always thought so. I have fine hair too but unfortunately I dont have a lot of hair so it takes a lot for me to put volume in my hair. I need to try the curlers again. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family xxxx

How do you use the oil? Do you put it in when it’s wet or after it’s dry?

You hair is so pretty! Love everything about it. I tend to wear mine straight mostly because curls never seem to hold. I haven’t tried hot rollers since my hair got longer.. I’ll have to try again! I’m a HUGE fan of batiste dry shampoo and Aveda’s Damage Control line.
