Hello Ladies
It has been a busy month. My mom has come to visit between my sister and I in North Carolina. I live in the North ( Lake Norman area) of Charlotte, my sister the South end. Bopping back and forth like a ping pong is what my mom wanted, a few days here and a few days there. We have shared some great places and our favorite haunts; I was afraid that mom was going to think all we do is drink wine! Ha. We did go to a “few” wine bars. My niece is 5, and learning the piano, so mom thought she would help her with that. It is quite amusing, as she practices and lands on a whole note, counting out with conviction 2-3-4!! Love it though.
We did a lot of reminiscing and had good times. I shared my blog with mom and she was telling me about the slip ons she bought in yellow. I told her how trendy she was! And to speak of trends, today I am wearing printed floral silky pants. As comfortable as pajama bottoms, they will make their appearance more than once this season. When I first saw these a few years ago, I thought perhaps they were from Ted Baker as the soft pastel hues and style looked like his. However, not from TD yet it was the style and colors I loved,…sold! I can think of many ways I will style these in the future and can give you some tips on styling printed or floral pants. Today, I decided to take a lavender lace top and wear it as a vest with a white button down underneath. I love wearing peplum tops or sleeveless tops as vests and with the weather still slightly chilly this adds interest with the layers worn here.
The shimmery blue pointed, strappy block heels were another choice as I was in the mood for color. They have a shimmer to them, as other colors shine in the sun. My purple vine like necklace, purchased in Asheville and vintage like earrings were nice touches.I also added yet another pink brooch from the 50s to my look.
If you are interested in wearing printed or floral pants:
1. Try pattern mixing. Look at the color pallet, a pastel pink striped top would look wonderful with the pants adding visual interest, however neutrals would work as well.
2. Mix a smaller floral patterned top.
3. Let the pants take center stage by wearing a neutral top in black, white or solid color.
4. Wear slip on sneakers, a trend that is Hot now to make this a more casual look. Perhaps a graphic tee in combo.
5.Try a colorful jacket to add additional color to the look. I love colorful outfits!
6. An off the shoulder top is trending right now, a white crisp off the shoulder adds to the romantic look.
There are plenty more ideas to wearing floral pants, share your thoughts!

April 27, 2016 at 7:55 pmJess, you make wearing floral pants look like heaven on earth. Being on the petite side they tend to overwhelm me but I so enjoy seeing them on you taller women. Love the way you styled that lace top as a vest. . . perfection!

April 27, 2016 at 1:52 amJess I love these floral trousers and lace top together. I’ve recently purchased some similar trousers and wore them for the first time with a lace top too – great minds, eh? That latest trend for lace up flats is one I hope to buy into when I can find my ideal pair, so the search is on. Thank you so much for the chance to meet up with all the lovely ladies at your link-up party!
