Well it was a whirlwind of fun, ferries and tons of Uber rides as time flew by as I finally got to see my brother Tim, his wife, and his new french bulldog, Jack. I wanted to share with you my look for the fashion shows, as I found this dress on Bloomingdales, months before Fashion Week. It was a good thing, as it sold out in what seemed minutes!
The gown is by designer, Tadashi Shoji, a beautiful red lace with satin piping to accentuate the waist and bodice area. The red stood out to me,as you well know it to be one of my favorite colors, and love the well designed gorgeous lace. ( of course!) The fit was just perfect and I loved the flow of the bottom of the gown. I wore my Coach patent leather bow kitten heel, with even a 1.5 inch heel was a challenge to stand as long as I did. There was a gamet of looks at this intimate event. Women in casual dresses, some nightclub type looks, black head to toe, and suits. I found one other girl who wore a red dress, and a lovely lady I met with more of a pin-up retro vibe. No one asked me, ” Who was I wearing?” as I always find that a funny phrase where I would respond, ” If you want to know who designed the dress , I would be happy to tell you! ” ( Ok, end of my sacrcastic nature)
The event we attended was by Macy’s, celebrating International Concepts Brand’s 30th Anniversary with Heidi Klum and Gabriel Aubrey. They both represented the brand and she has been with them since she was 18.
I met my brother Tim there, and it was a multi-media event with green screens and a GIF after the models and Heidi went down the red carpet. Photographers were there to get her picture and Gabriel Aubrey, a handsome model that used to date actress, Halle Berry . Roy was able to get in with the pack and get some great photos, as we watched the opening.
Drinks were poured , mine a cranberry vodka, all around us where large screens of the International Concepts clothes being modeled in projected large images. I met and mingled with many people, and made a couple of contacts. I met other fashion bloggers and they too, were excited about the week and the excitement of it all.
As the show progressed, Heidi Klum came out as she introduced the International Concepts Fall line 2015, and spoke about it being 30 years in the making.
Models in the fall line filed out in woolen ponchos, black lace tops with strands of fringe hanging everywhere, faux fur in shades of brown, and a leather dress that I wouldn’t mind owning worn by Heidi and announced to only be a small fraction at $125. So what I enjoyed about this event was seeing the line, mingling and the fact that is was said to be a “Hot ticket”! I also loved the variety of this more intimate evening and the contrast of the Betsey Johnson show with lots of people and energy! ( More on that later).
Prior to getting to the show, there was quite a bit of rain, and I only had what looked to be “Jack’s umbrella”, a very small one that barely covered my head. So making a dash to the ferry and out of the Uber, it was a little flatter than I wanted it to be, but still fine.
Here are some of the pics from the show. Necklace: Vintage ( Etsy) Clutch: JJ Winters, Heels: Coach :Mandy, earrings Etsy
( Here I met NY actor Elberto Colon, who will be on Season 4 of Orange is the New Black. He was a very nice and genuine person!)
