Hello Ladies!!
Welcome back to another edition of #Turningheadstuesday!! I am sharing with you another one of my looks from #NYFW, as I wore this to the #BetseyJohnson fashion show. Perhaps I could have worn a big tulle fluffy pink dress with a corset outer, but thought that just might be a bit over the top for me, so I saw this on Zara and had to have it! I know I have shown alot of lace outfits lately, but what can I say.. I love fine well made lace and the color was a surprise! On the website, it looked more maroon, which I thought would be lovely, but when I received it, it is a brick shade and I thought, even better!!
I had to borrow the Brownstone in the background, wondering if the owner would come out at any minute. I decided to go with the house without the three signs that read ” “Keep Out” , ” Pick up Your Doggie Doo” and ” Keep of Property’, as the one down the street advertised. ( wow!) I always loved the look of the row of Brownstone houses in New York and Jersey City, as it reminds me of the movies, classic New York, and the architecture is so lovely to look at with potted plants and iron wrought fences. I also have a love for colored bright doors as an array of red, green and brown shades peppered the front of the homes.
Jersey City is quaint compared to New York, and has much character. We had to stop in the puppy shop to pick up pumpkin treats for Jack and some treats to take home to Gibson and Truffles. We ate at some cozy restaurants, a delicious breakfast place where the cooks and waitresses sang to a playlist of classic rock tunes as they served their customers. I had a scrumptious breakfast of peach french toast with real cream and much needed dark roast coffee.
So, here in front of this brownstone, I am in a rust colored lace ruffled top with a scalloped bottom ( tucked in) and a pencil skirt with a mini-midi style. I loved that the skirt showed the legs but came down past the knee for added length, allowing one to show off their legs in a slightly edgier style. My shoes are a burgundy patent leather with a square toe, and square heel, vintage style. I added the same family of marsala/maroon with my Rebecca Minkoff leather bag, which holds about everything but the kitchen sink. I could have an entire wardrobe of this shade for fall! I had to get the matching blouse as the ruffles add pizazz to the look, and instead of a dress I wanted the ability to mix and match in my wardrobe, pairing this blouse under a tweed blazer in the fall as well.
Hope you enjoyed my look and day in NY 🙂
