26 Jan Turning Heads #linkup: Purple Poppy Cashmere Wrap Styled
Hello Ladies
We meet again for #turningheadstuesday. I I have been thinking about blog goals and topics and plan on doing some new things this year. I am looking to have a series called “Pinterest Interest” where I try to emulate a Pinterest look. I know many of you love Pinterest and one could easily spend time perusing the boards for inspiration. I have other ideas in mind, budgeting on $150 a month, and hubby likes to laugh or is it cringe when I say, I am spending my $150 allotment!. Just the word “Allotment” conjures up the idea of money for chores or..very rigid spending.. I know that sounds like very little to some, but it allows me to “shop smart”. More on that. You all know I love my handbags and these are investments, or something I spend more on, and they are usually gifts, or I will save for a couple of months. I also am a member of the Purse Forum, and if you are and post, after a certain amount they will verify the authenticity of a bag, as I have bought on Ebay, Poshmark etc.
So , just a few new things before I get to talking about my lovely Lilac Cashmere Wrap that was gifted to me by a company called, Purple Poppy, out of Cape Cod.—-read more about them here. Erin, the owner, provided wonderful customer service and when she contacted me I was thrilled as I looked at the site and noticed the lovely jackets, pants, variety of clothing and several styles of cashmere sweaters and wraps. I loved the idea of a Cashmere wrap for several reasons. It adds glamour to an outfit, gives me a chance to wear, again, something you have not seen me in. I know I am sometimes not sure of what I want to wear with my strapless dresses if I am going to a dinner, to the symphony or an event, other than a stole or caplet. These are very good choices, but this cashmere wrap, can be styled in a dressy and casual way, as with this look ( a chiffon black strapless dress I have worn on the blog) or worn like today, with some shades of grey. The faux leather pants from Zara are getting to be a favorite ( it’s all your fault! j/k) as they are thick and very comfortable, more so than I initially thought. The look then adds bits of vintage inspired jewelry with my necklace and earrings from 1928. My Seychelles grey ankle booties offer a slighter darker shade of grey, while my designer Treesje ruffled bag continues adding from the purple family, via a plum hue.
Purple Poppy has a lovely selection of cashmere sweaters, cardigans, cotton jackets, artistic tops, along with denim and pants. Very contemporary items!
There was one tricky part with this cashmere wrap. Can you guess it? The color selection! The Purple Poppy offers this wrap in so many wonderful colors, I had a tough time deciding. I did not resort to ” innie meenie minie moe”, but rather got it down to 3 favorite colors. I liked the greens, soft blues and this lilac. # . I thought that I had a nice selection of greens in my closet for the moment, and although not as much blue, the Lilac or lavender color won me over. I felt like the color reminded me of Jill’s photos where she was surrounded by a lovely field of lavender. So, the choice was made.
When I received it, and put it on, I could see there would be various ways of styling, and let’s face it, who doesn’t like cashmere?
