16 Feb Turning Heads #linkup Ruffles and Teal Blue Anthropologie Jacket
Hello Ladies and Matt,
Welcome to Turning Heads Tuesday. Matt is my younger brother, and he commented that he wants to comment on my blog but that I ALWAYS begin with, “Hello Ladies”, so I decided to include him in my introduction! I better hear from you, Matt!! 🙂
February is always a time, actually January is when I start to get antsy for Spring. I just am not a fan of cold, and the inability to take my puppies out with us to lunch or a wine bar, or anywhere for that matter. I could complain, but our winter isn’t very long here in Charlotte, and the coldest months are January and February. I do like to see sunshine though. It just so happened to be the spot in which we took pictures was sunny. I just prefer warmer days, and do believe in the “winter blues”.
Speaking of blues, I thought I would wear a blue hue today as I am looking to incorporate more blue into my closet. So, the day we took these photos it was pretty cold here, I’m not wearing a coat, as for you to see my outfit, but figured if I didn’t show teeth while smiling, and pursed my lips together, they might be stuck that way; that is how bitter cold it was. I had broken an icicle off of the tip of my husband’s nose! haha! Ok, I imagine you get the point. 🙂 Well, back to business! This teal blue boiled wool jacket caught my eye on Poshmark once again, as I browsed the Anthropologie section. I loved all of the layers of ruffles and the upright collar. The detail on the back also caught my eye and the uniqueness of the garment is what I love about Anthro. It isn’t like every other button down teal cardigan out there. I decided to wear jewel tones and chose a vintage/antique inspired purple necklace and earrings I purchased from 1928.com. The cream and black scrolled pencil skirt kept the jacket as the main focus, as the neutral colors complimented the look. I decided to wear the taupe suede tall boots and could have as easily could have chosen my black scalloped kitten heels with solid black tights, perhaps for another time. The quilted ice grey Rebecca Minkoff bag has been adorning my arm frequently and I enjoyed wearing it as another neutral with this look.
Outfit details: Anthropologie teal blue jacket, Skirt Target, Boots: Sole Society, Jewelry: 1928.com, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love Crossbody.
I also want to say, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WARM AND THOUGHTFUL COMMENTS LAST WEEK. IT CONTINUES TO BE A DIFFICULT TIME FOR ME. IT MEANT A LOT TO ME TO HEAR FROM YOU AND THAT YOU ARE SAYING PRAYERS.
What color or colors are you looking to add to your wardrobe? ( if any)

Posted at 13:02h, 21 FebruaryThat’s a beautiful jacket, it’s a lovely colour. I really love your skirt too, the print is so pretty – I have recently put wallpaper on one of the walls in my bedroom (even though I heard accent walls are sooo 2006, but I don’t care, I love it!) and the print is very similar. I searched high and low to get exactly the print I wanted, it drove my husband nuts! No-one would ever guess from the photos that it was so cold…it looks very Spring-like! Hello Matt btw 🙂

Posted at 04:53h, 16 FebruaryJess, you should definitely wear more blue tones!
This teal really pops the colour of your hair (I am secretly wanting to see you in cobalt, I just get a feeling you will be stunning in it).
I am trying to get more rich and bright greens and yellows into my wardrobe.
It may seem strange for someone with red hair not to have a wardrobe full of greens BUT there is a woman I know who wears green all of the time, head to toe almost, and it looks horrible.
It is probably not her colour but it has still made me a bit wary of it!
Funny how people we know IRL can influence us, isn’t it?
I used to wear green a lot, before I know her.
Perhaps your post is the wake up call I need to start getting more green back into my life and enjoying it again.
Thank you Jess.

P.S. The right tone of cobalt looks stunning with your favourite autumn hues….like aubergine (do you call it eggplant?), grey and rust. :oD

Posted at 02:21h, 16 FebruaryI always think teal is almost green, rather than blue. But I prefer the warmer shades of blue, and colder shades of green, anyway. And they mix well with other colours, too, like purple. This is a very pretty outfit, Jess.
Hang in there: the pain of loss will never go away completely, but you will learn to live with it.

Posted at 01:27h, 16 FebruaryLove your skirt and boots! It’s very sweet that you included your brother in today’s post! I agree that everyone is anxious for spring. Although by me it is 90+ degrees so while I love spring prints and clothing, I wish it would cool off just a little bit!
