04 Dec Unwrapping ideas for a Casual Holiday Look
I’m unwrapping some ideas for a casual holiday look today on the blog.
Ideas on Styling This Look
Sometimes I like to keep it casual. I think hubby thinks of casual is just jeans, a tee shirt, and sneakers. I feel most of the time, with denim, there is a casual look/vibe. I am wearing Fidelity denim, which were gifted to me, but do love the style. The fit is wonderful and they have some stretch, so very comfortable. I do prefer a high rise these days, since I am long waisted. So, ladies, if that is the case, look into high rise jeans.
I had to style it with this new top I bought on Mango, a button down can be very versatile. I decided to try the one of many hacks you may have seen on Instagram, where you unbutton the last few buttons, wrap the bottom of your shirt into your jeans, and you have a more moder look. I did that with this top.
How else could we make this another casual holiday look?
- Leave the shirt open and wear it with a cami underneath.
- Style a bustier- with gold or black over top of the shirt. It’s a bit edgy, but the look is fabulous, and no you are not too old!
- Wear with a velvet vest for the Holidays
- Wear this top with a brocade or velvet blazer – you will elevate the look, but it will still be casual with the jeans
- JEan wash and cut often determines how dressy or casual a look is. If you wore this shirt with a dark trouser, dark wide leg jean with sparkly heels, that would be considered a dressy look.
- Add a pair of velvet or gold/metallic boots to this look for the season.
- A blazer will always elevate the look. Add a tonal look with another red blazer over top.
- Platform heels are back in, wear a pair of silver or gold with the jeans for a fun Holiday look. I just ordered these. They are under $30! Hello, the 90s or is it 70’s want their shoes back?
These are just some ideas I have for you regarding wearing a casual look over the Holidays. We have somethings planned for this time of year. Before we go to Philly, we will have a Secret Santa/Ornament Party/Cookie Exchange at my sister in laws. I am planning on making my first Gingerbread Biscotti ( will drizzle with icing) There are many events around here that we will be checking out before the time comes. In the meantime, we are still working on our decor!
Wearing my gold jewelry with a Baroque pearl and my gold ball earrings to remind me of the Christmas season.
How might you style this casual look?
