What to Wear on Thanksgiving-Chunky Knit Over a Slip Dress

With only three  more days until Thanksgiving, I am sharing how I wear a chunky knit over this leopard slip dress as one idea

A Thanksgiving Outfit Idea

I love the look of a chunky knit sweater over the slim silhouette of a slip dress. Slip dresses make your wardrobe go farther too, as you could wear a blazer over it, a sweater ( in this case) cardigan, or multiple layers.

Anthropologie is a favorite shop of mine, but I tend to get their pieces secondhand, as they are a bit pricey. That is where Poshmark comes into play and this orange knit with a peplum style was found. It looks handmade and I loved the knit design.

Any chance I can double or triple the leopard factor, I do! I like the contrast between these two leopard prints with my scarf and slip dress.

My tall over the knee boots create a long leg line and also keep the chill factor at bay.

So try this outfit combination of a chunky knit cardigan, slip dress and tall boots. You will be comfortable and look stylish for Turkey day!

And I have a multitude of GI issues ( Gastroperesis,  IBS, ) that comes with my condition, so It almost a requirement to wear a looser fitting dress! I always enjoyed dressing up though, even as a child for Thanksgiving. I know I am going to enjoy the butternut squash dish and of course pumpkin pie!

Family

We head to Pittsburgh Wednesday to stay at my moms and my family will be there preparing for Thanksgiving day! We all have prospective “jobs” for the day, and mine is preparing the cocktails. I can do that! I found this recipe for an Spiced Apple Cider Rum Cocktail, on this site. Keep in mind the recipe is only for 1 ( !) so make sure you double or quadruple it!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone, and we will be celebrating my nephew’s birthday, with Dinosuars being quite popular this year! He also LOVES the movie, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, which was one of my absolute favorites as a kid! Of course the Gene Wilder version! ( Johnny Depp has nothing on him!) We made Wonka Bars and one with a Golden ticket for my nephew. 🙂

I am so grateful that we get to spend the Holidays with family this year. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed  day!

I love anything leopard, especially that dress. You can style it in so many beautiful ways. That cardigan would look glam in lots of different colors. Bravo…
