08 Oct 5 Shoe Trends for Fall 2021
We all know that shoes can make or break a look. Fall Fashion is full of shoe goodness this year, and I am sharing some of the shoe trends for Fall 2021.
Some of these may take you back!
Loafers with chunky heel
I had pairs of these. Kind of a thick soled black loafer that I wore with skirts and pants back in the day. Well, their inspiration seems to have come from the “punk genre”, or “goth”, even perhaps prepsters who wanted to “up their game”. I do like that the thicker sole makes them more comfortable and gives a bit of an edge. I personally am not a loafers kind of gal, but there are some stylish ones out there this season.
Shearling shoes
Working from home having you wearing your fuzzy slippers? Well, the inspiration, might just be that. Shearling shoes are hot for Fall, and come in mules, Birkenstock styles, loafers and other styles. Keep your tootsies warm while making a statement. If I lived in a colder climate, I wouldnt mind a pair of combat boots that were shearling lined.
Retro Sneakers
Another blast from the past of the 80s-90s are retro sneakers. Nike, Adidas, many of the brands have jumped on this retro revolution. Since we are trying new “old” styles of denim , like the 90s style mom jean, or straight leg, why not go for the sneakers that remind us of our youth, and are kinda cool looking.
Clogs
Did you know clogs were first invented in the 1300’s? It was the Swedish clog that was worn as protective footwear in the field. Fast forward to 1970s and probably the era you think of first wearing clogs. In the 70s, the musical group Abba made the clog more popular, and it was worn by men and women alike. Although I owned a pair when I was about 8, I wouldn’t buy clogs today. Just the idea of wooden based shoes…
Lug Sole Boots
Here we are with the chunky shoes again. Lug sole boots were first designed in Italy, with designer Bramani Vibram in 1945. The lug sole was designed for mountaineering boots, when some of his friends died hiking the Alps. Now, fashion has taken them into popularity, in many boot styles. Combat boots, platform boots, knee high boots are just some examples showing for Fall 2021. Remember when Nancy Sinatra sang, “These boots are made for walking..” , well, she could have been wearing and talking about “lug sole boots” ( although she wasn’t). The lug sole is a rubber sole that is made for walking comfortably and adding a minimalistic look to an outfit. I love the look with dresses, giving it a masculine/feminine vibe.
Which shoe style might you add to your closet? Let me know in the comments!

Posted at 12:21h, 11 OctoberI know Anna, trends aren’t for everyone! I do like the straight jeans or looser fit, and do like lug sole as far as combat boots.

Posted at 18:05h, 08 OctoberIt’s all about the chunkier styles, isn’t it?? I was thinking that could be because of the wider leg jeans???

Posted at 09:25h, 09 OctoberI like them with long dresses too, something about the contrast – a more masculine shoe with a feminine dress.
