Today I am talking about how to style a casual 4th of July look for the Summer.

Are we tired of white dresses yet?

Heck no!

The only places I won’t wear a white dress is to a Vineyard or to an Italian restaurant. Everywhere else is fair game.

This rusched white sleeveless dress was gifted to me by XCVI , and it is not only a fun style, but cool as well in cotton with a little stretch with spandex. It is a dress a part of their core collection.  This is the Raymond dress and comes in 11 other colors. My second choice would be the olive.

I thought about styling it for the 4th of July and love just to add those little touches like my red earrings and navy-blue leather purse. I am not one to wear an American flag as a dress, top or otherwise.

To complete the casual look, I am wearing Superga sneakers with an espadrille style. Gives off that relaxed, casual vibe I am looking for.

Unless you are playing with your grandkids and have to get down on the floor- a white simple dress can work well for this Patriotic holiday.

So, the one tip, if you don’t want to dress like the American flag, but want to show your patriotism, try dressing in white, blue or red, and add the other colors with your accessories.

You could certainly change out the sneakers for some woven slides as well, for a cool summer look. Also, if you are going somewhere to eat and will be indoor, a denim jacket would look great with this look as well.

Life Lately

Life lately has been busy! Fun- busy, which is ok with me! My brother, Tim,  and his family flew in from Hoboken and spent last week at my other brother’s (Matt’s) house.  My brother and sis in law have 2 kids, age 4.5 and 3. Let’s just say there is a lot of energy in this house!  Matt and his wife have bought the house 10 minutes away, and we all enjoyed pool and grill time this week. My little nephew if I would call him when they went home, and also continually asked when I was coming in the pool. He is a doll! We went out to eat on the Lake a few times, rented a Pontoon for the day, and spent alot of time on floaties in the pool. I have a white swan that is 6 feet wide 🙂 and would take up 1/3 of the pool! My mom is here until August. It really was a fun time!
