15 Dec Always A Classic Combination- With a Favorite Holiday Cocktail Recipe
Hello readers,
I’m sharing a classic combo for a Holiday outfit inspiration with one of my favorite cocktail recipes on the blog today.
A Classic Holiday Outfit Inspiration
Hubby wasn’t feeling well, and it seemed to make its way to me as well. I hadn’t been feeling well this week, so the posts didn’t happen.
Excuse the wreath, I have the Christmas decor up, but this was taken beforehand.
I wanted to give you an easy outfit to put together for the season. One as comfortable as it is stylish. These are pieces that have all come from my closet, but I will provide links to similar pieces here.
We all know a LBD can go far in the wardrobe, so how about a LBD in the form of a velvet slip dress?
I shared another older LBD I may wear for New Years on this Instagram REEL
This Prada bag with the bows added that Holiday look, but you could also add some gold with these bags- option 1, option 2, option 3.
This slip dress is from Zara, but I bought secondhand on Zara. Here is a similar style for you. These are mostly older pieces from my closet, but I will give you similar pieces at the bottom of the post as well. I’m wearing my Coach bow kitten heels which are an older style, and although these don’t have a bow, these kitten heels by Sam Edelman are ones I keep looking at.
You also don’t have to put it away immediately after the Holidays. Slip dresses are very versatile, as I mentioned before on the blog, and velvet is just a great Winter fabric as well. Style it with a blazer and some fun combat boots for a sartorial dichotomy. Wear with some tall boots and a coatigan ( cardigan that is like a coat). Add a sheer top under the slip dress, add a belt for shape and pair with some fun heels. There are so many possibilities!
Happenings
Do you have some fun events planned for the holidays?
We are going to be heading to our local brewery – Olde Mecklenburg for an event that they have each weekend in December. A holiday market, with vendors, firepits, music, lunch. It is a lot of fun, and one we go to with my SIl, brother and mom (she came down here Wednesday). We will also be having a cookie/ ornament party and Secret Santa game at my brother’s house. We are making this a tradition. I am making this Gingerbread Biscotti recipe.
8 more days and we will be headed to Harleysville, PA, near Philly, spending time with my in-laws for the Holidays.
The Holiday Cocktail for the Year
Here is a recipe from the site, Liquor.com
We live near a distillery that makes the best rum. This will be a wonderful Holiday and Winter drink.
Do you wear velvet? Have you tried styling a velvet slip dress or a silk slip dress for the Holidays?
Shopping Options
Dress – Zara via Poshmark ( option 1, option 2) If you can’t get it in time for Christmas, it would make a great NYE look!
Mango long red cardigan- another option
Coach heels – another option
Prada vintage red bag – Another option
Baroque gold necklace c/o
Have a wonderful weekend!
