Amazon Purchases Lately And Health Update

Oh, Amazon. It is you I can’t resist. It is just too easy to hit that “buy now ” button.

I am going to share with you some of my latest purchases from Amazon.

Even before I had an illness, I would buy 96% of the time on-line. I liked the ease, the comfort of my own home, and trying on clothes in my own room without those harsh dressing room lights and mirrors. I also found inventory was better on-line and I have a myriad of choices.

Sometimes that can be overwhelming though! I am like that in the nail salon when the girl comes over with a basket of nail swatches.

Just give me about five colors to pick from, please? Anyone else like that?

Anyhow, I have been doing a bit of shopping on Amazon lately, and much of it has to do with my Pudenda Neuralgia condition now, so some may be of interest others may not.

Amazon Purchases Lately

Sombra Pain Relieving Cool Gel-

I bought this as I have run out. It is a gel that offers a cooling effect of the muscles. I rub it on the back of my legs for muscle pain. THis gallon will last me at least a year. If you have muscle pain it is really helpful.

Women’s Casual Lounge Pants

Would you believe I bought these in 3 colors? They are the softest pair of loungers that I own. With PN, it is imperative I wear loose clothes, as the nerve pain makes wearing trousers or jeans at the moment, impossible. You might see more of me in “Street style”!  At under $15 these are a steal! Maybe you want something that looks mor like loungewear or pants to go out to your mailbox or walk the dog in the early morning hours? It’s kind of ironic that I need these loungewear clothes now and didn’t wear them even during Covid!

Spiral Notebook 160 pages

Since I am now taking Gabapentin and another med, I like to keep a journal of those things. You could use it for anything – a personal daily journal, whatever you like. Of course I was “sucked in” by the flowers.

BuBBle Bath- Milk and Honey

Who doesn’t love to unwind with a nice bubble bath? I take mine and add Epsom salts for relaxation and muscle relief.

Play some calming music and just let your mind drift!

Kabooti Seat Cushion with Ice Insert

Noting like bringing your “kabooti” cushion with you for appts and such.  At the moment, my pelvic floor PT is telling me to avoid sitting as much as possible ( that is hard!) but if I have to briefly use this cushion.  If you want more comfort or cushion, due to sitting long hours, you may want to give this a try.

Pretty Garden Lounge Set-

Loved that there are many colors to this lounge set. This is a comfortable set with a soft material that makes lounging look good. 🙂

Bamboo Cotton Nightgown

This is one soft nightgown! Comes in various colors and is a bit stretchy. I love that it is longer too.

Neewer Advanced Ring Light

Bought this before I got sick and had some fun experimenting with video. Its very professional, has a number of light settings and a remote.

If you are looking to go on You Tube, or just want it to make videos, this is really worth it.

Essie Gel- Spiked with Style

This dark burgundy caught my eye for Fall.  I haven’t been up to painting my nails, but it is a lovely dark shade.

Life Lately

I am not going to sugar coat it; life lately has been tough! I try and update a bit of IG stories as well. So, at the 2-week mark of this diagnosis, I have been evaluated by 2 different Pelvic Floor PTS, in an effort to find the right one for me. I switched hospitals, did my research, and wanted to go with an older pelvic floor PT with nearly 30 years’ experience. She came recommended. So, I had one appt with her, and now, since Labor Day is around the corner, I won’t have another appt with her until after Labor Day. She does dry needling of the pelvic floor as well. (I know, doesn’t sound fun! But I have had most things needled anyway!) I have also titrated up on the Gabapentin, and I know that can take a few weeks to see how it goes.  I have been also doing relaxation exercise with this meditation music, working on my breathing, as tension affects the pelvic floor muscles.  I have also seen a Pain doc and he will be doing a Pudendal Nerve Block on me mid Sept. I know this is not going to be a quick fix, just from my experience last time.

I hope you will join me tomorrow for another post. It may be slightly intermittent here, as I try and work on getting better (pain relief).

If you don’t follow me on INSTAGRAM, I’d love if you did. I will post updates and posts there when I can.

Thank you for your support!

Have a great day!

Jess xx

Yes I mainly only do online shopping these days too. I love the convenience. Bubble baths are so soothing! It’s actually great because we are in thick of a heatwave so being able to just soak in cool water and some bubbles is a great welcome. The Sombra cool therapy sounds like something my hubby needs. He has back issues. He fell off a roof when he was 16 so now it’s come back to bite him. I will look into it! In the meantime, I want to say hang in there Jess and thinking of you.

It sounds like you are doing everything possible to get on top of this drastically painful problem. I’m so sorry. These are great purchase suggestions to deal with painful conditions. Like you, I embraced online shopping a long time ago. As an introvert, being in a crowded store is not my favorite, and with the addition of my own health issues, it’s just far easier.

Those lounge pants look, and sound, fabulous. There’s something about wearing super soft fabrics, isn’t there? Especially if you’re not well. I am sorry to hear that life has been tough for you lately, Jess. It must be so hard dealing with so much pain. I think a nice relaxing bath does wonders too. I keep meaning to buy some epsom salts but I’ve never actually seen any for sale here in Portugal. They must have it. I guess I should just look harder…that or go to Amazon lol!
I hope you feel better really soon, Jess.
    Big healing hugs
