Anthropologie Ruffled Blazer – Ruffles Trend 2019

Hello Ladies!

It is nearing the end of February when the upcoming month of  March is a time to look forward to Spring, warmer temps and  Spring Fashion  Trends for 2019. Ruffles are on the runway and showing up in a big way for Spring.

Trends

Do you ever look at some runway trends and think, when would I wear that? I like to look at the trends each year and decide if it is something I can realistically wear in real life. I will buy trends here and there but do often prefer things that are classic or stand the test of time.

It is fun, though to wear some trends that speak to us. I have had this boiled wool ruffled blazer for years. I bought it on Poshmark, from Anthropologie, and the ruffled details are what caught my eye in the first place. That and the bright turquoise color.

I put together some of the ruffled looks from the runway, as well as finding some pieces that I would wear in real life, frm light and airy blouses to floral midi dresses. I also love the white pumps with the ruffled detail I linked up below.

If ruffles are a bit too feminine for you, there will be other trends I cover this season. If you are looking to try this trend, you should consider a few things.

Outfit/Ruffled Blazer

This isn’t the first go around for ruffles on the runway and now as a trend. With my outfit today, I thought I would bring out some key points when wearing ruffles.

Wearing ruffles creates volume. With a voluminous look of this jacket, with its many ruffles, you want to pair it with a more streamlined piece. If you are wearing ruffles on top, choose a slim more fitted silhouette for the bottom. I would pair this with a pencil skirt, fitted trousers, or as I have done here, skinny jeans to balance the look.

Also, ruffles are quite feminine, and I am loving some of the floral dresses with ruffles, with speak to the epitome of feminity. Try a justoposition of feminine and masculine. If you wear a ruffled dress like this, pair it with a more “masucline” shoe like a combat boot, or a pair of brogues. If that doesn’t appeal, a pair of white leather sneakers will tone down the girliness 🙂

Necklace- I would be amiss if I didn’t talk about my opal and blue gorgeous necklace hubby and I bought in Taos, NM. I love to get jewelry or something I can share that reminds me of my adventures.

I am wearing Old Navy Rockstar skinny jeans and my favorite taupe suede pair of booties by Marc Fisher.

Real life practical pieces 🙂

Here are the affiliate links to shop some ruffle pieces. The blog may make a small commission at no cost to you.

Tell me in the comments, are you a ruffles fan? Would you wear in small doses or would you be the girl in the lavender lace ruffle dress?

Have fun  and a great weekend! Go Green Book! ( my choice for winner)

Thank you Lisa! I know what you mean, I like it sometimes in smaller doses, but this jacket did call out to me. Hope you have a great day! xx

Pretty sweater jacket. I really love Anthropologie. It’s one of my favorite stores and there’s are 2 stores, each within about 10 minutes of my house… dangerous. Have a great weekend.

It’s only as I’ve gotten older that I like and appreciate ruffles more and more!! I think when I was working, I felt I needed to be more serious, and ruffles don’t give off a serious vibe. But now? Serious can go out the door. Ruffles are fabulous and your jacket is so perfect, Jess!!
    Have a great weekend,
    XOXO

I LOVE that blazer! Ruffles are so fun and feminine, I am so happy to see them trending this year. I bought a dress yesterday – may wear it to the funeral – it has ruffles down the front in sort of an a-symmestrical style. Got it at Nordstrom Rack at a great price, it’s Vince Camuto. Need to try it on again today and make a decision! Wish you were here to help give me an opinion!

Thank you friend! You know where I got it 🙂 Oh, the dress sounds so pretty! I look forward to seeing it on you. I have pinned 2 dresses for Spring I want, but have to wait until end of March to buy! ( just bought a treadmill). You can always send me a pic 🙂 xx
