16 Aug August Favorites
Morning friends!
I am thinking of a once a month feature, sharing with you what my favorite things of the month are. Since it is August, ( can you believe it? Why doesn’t Jan- Feb go as fast?) I thought I would share with you some favorites of mine this month.
August Favorites
Dining al fresco– I will sweat it out if it means sitting outside and dining. I will go as long as possible in order to enjoy the outdoors! Here in NC, we could sit outside until the end of October, as that is only when it gets colder. To me, there is nothing like enjoying company while being outside.
..
Haircare products– I am trying Bumble and Bumble products and wanted to try the Thickening Line. I know it is used in blowouts and in many professional salons. I have been enjoying some Youtube videos on the products they use as well. I chose to buy one product at a time to see how I like it. The first I purchased was the Thickening Spray. Verdict- Love. When I go out I use hot rollers as they add body to my hair, this additional spray adds more volume, so I am in love! I have fine hair, but it makes it look fuller. The next product I may try is the Thickening Mousse. I LOVE this glamour waves look on this video below.
Watermellon– I can’t get enough watermelon throughout the summer, and I love it ice cold in chunks in the freezer. This is nearing the end of the season, so of course, I am enjoying it as much as possible! How about this Muddled Watermelon Martini recipe.
Enjoying looking for Fall clothes. I plan to add some new light sweaters, a plaid blazer, and some midi dresses to my Fall wardrobe, after purging some of the older clothes and giving them to charity. Even though it is hot hot hot, I still love looking at the Fall selection, it is my favorite season! I have bought a few things for Fall, only one thing from the Nordstrom Sale, these boots by Dolce Vita. I also bought this gorgeous Fall chiffon midi dress with fall leaves in burgundy and rust, as well as a long cardigan in deep red.on Mango.
Mango- as of now, sold out.
Mango- long red cardigan on SALE!
Dolce Vita Booties from Nordstrom Can’t wait to wear!
This was the blazer I wanted from the Nordstrom Sale. It’s no longer on sale, but in stock. I’m just looking to spend a bit less.
Book I’m reading- I finished this book last month, and am now reading this.- The Woman In the Window
My Stratocaster is now set up and ready to play. I’ve gotten a bit rusty after all the years with EDS and not being able to play, but I am determined to sit and enjoy music and learn some of my favorite tunes.
Wearing my new belt from Mango– Love this belt and the colors are perfect for Fall as well. As a year-round accessory, I will get alot of use from it wearing it with dresses. If you missed my post on it, and How One Accessory can Amplify a Look, have a read!
Bark in the Ballpark. – Ok, so it hasn’t happened yet, but August 26th, we will be going to Bark in the Ballpark, where we can bring our pups to the Charlotte Knights baseball game. I am so excited, it should be fun! Check your city to see if they have it in your neighborhood.

Visiting vineyards. -We went to the Full Festival at Raylen Vineyards with the puppies at the beginning of the month. This is one of our favorite vineyards, about 50 minutes north of Lake Norman. I enjoy listening to music, eating and drinking good wines from the vineyard. Some of my favorites for summer are the Raylen Vineyard’s Viognier and the Chardonnay ( stainless steel.) I am a “Red wine girl” but in the summer I turn more to whites.
Planting new plants in our garden. We’ve added more mulch and an additional Coral Knockout Rose plant and stepping stones to one side as well as Fire Autumn Red Azalea bushes ( 3) to the right side of the deck.
What are you enjoying in the Month of August?

Posted at 03:54h, 17 AugustI really wish we had better weather in the UK. Unfortunately I think our summer is over, the temperatures have dropped and everyone is now wearing more autumn clothes. I love your list and was looking for a good book for when I go away for a few days in September so may try this one. Thanks Jess. Look forward to September xx

Posted at 10:48h, 18 AugustHello Lisa!
I am ready for cooler temps! I start to get a bit cranky with the heat as it is still 90 degrees in Sept! Ah, you will enjoy this book if you choose it. I always love Fall and the crisp air. Enjoy the day! x

Posted at 20:56h, 16 AugustThis is a great way to review your month and what you are doing and interested in. I love that belt you got and like you said, the fall colors are perfect. I also may have to try that Bumble hair thickener. My hair always gets so flat on the top, so maybe that will help. Thanks for sharing your faves. – Amy
