17 Oct Black Lace dress

Morning Ladies,

Hope everyone’s week is going well. To me, every woman needs that staple of a LBD. Can we have too many? ( rhetorical question) .

With my father in law in town, and myself having a series of ‘good days” I do take advantage of going out. He had never been to our favorite places ( among many) Port City Club, with a view of Lake Norman right at our table. I decided that I was going to ignore the fact that it was still quite warm this day, and just through caution to the wind and wear a sweater dress.

This is one of my favorite dresses because of many reasons. First, it is super comfortable. If I can be fashionable and comfortable, I am all in. Second, it has lace. I love lace and just the nature of the style lends itself to a vintage look. I know there are many styling opportunities for this dress. The one thing about this time of year in Charlotte, is we all are pretty “weather challenged”. Some people were in shorts, others in bathing suits coming off their boat to eat lunch ( wearing cover ups), me in this dress, and others in dressier attire. It ran the gamit. I pretty much just kind of leap into the “hey, it is Oct, so it is Fall mode” and as long as I am not sweating during lunch, it was a good choice.

My husband is always a keen observer. He leans over and says ” I think that group of eight, just came for lunch straight from their boat. ‘ I told him in my sarcastic tone ” Really, was it the bathing suits that gave it away”, What would the world be without sarcasm?

Nonetheless, I decided to add a bit more of a vintage vibe with my pearl brooch, and one of a kind gold amber chandileir earrings from Etsy,and  some modern texture and print with my leopard kitten heels,

We ended up having a great time, with some great wine and company.
