20 Apr Classic Look- Denim and White Scalloped Shirt
Hi friends! How are you today? I hope you are hanging in there.
Nothing like a cotton white shirt and medium wash jeans for a classic WFH look. I won’t wear the heels in the house but instead some converse sneakers.
Weekend
So how was your weekend? Can you even tell it’s the weekend when every day feels virtually the same??
We made a long list and went grocery shopping at Wallmart, buying it all on-line, and driving to the designated parking spot. I like it too as the shopper brings your groceries to the back of the car/trunk and there is no contact. The only issue is that some things are out of stock, but we did get most.
Kinda funny what we find entertaining these days. The dogs and I watched a bird flip a Bojangles box in the parking lot for about 10 minutes. 🙂
Sunday was baking day. Ok. I know this is sad ( as in pitiful) but I didn’t realize we didn’t have cookie sheets! So I had to buy some and muffin pans and went to town on Sunday. I made ginger molasses cookies ( mom used to make) and hubby made cinnamon scones. I wanted to make these early on, but we couldn’t find flour anywhere! Problem solved. My sister delivered a 25 pound bag of flour to our door as she works at Costco. Enough flour for years!
Outfit
I think white shirts in the Spring and Summer are special. Clean, fresh, and they look great no matter what you pair it with. I do like my white shirts to have something special to them, a detail that makes them stand out from the rest. This scalloped embroidered white shirt really caught my eye when I bought it last year. I love the neckline. I was thinking about adding a scarf, but didn’t want to detract from the scalloping, so I’m keeping it simple with a delicate gold chain.
Medium or light wash jeans are great for this time of year, so I am wearing my Rockstars, which continue to be among my favorite pairs. I am wearing a 4 in jeans, Xs in the blouse.
I added some texture with these Mango tan croc sandals and my straw circle bag. An easy style to replicate, if you are inclined.
Outfit
White embroidered blouse-Mango ( a few years old, love this blouse from Mango)
This embroidered top from Banana Republic is darling and on sale!
Medium wash denim – Old Navy Rockstar jeans
Earrings c/o Soft Surroundings ( This 4 pack from Amazon is so cute!)
watch- c/o Nordgreen
gold bracelet– Kate Spade
Stay safe and take care,
Jess xx

Posted at 08:24h, 22 AprilFabulous fresh look for Spring! It’s funny how everyone is buying up all of the flour…there must be a lot of baking going on! I’ve made banana bread and a vegan carrot cake. My daughter loves them, but we make such a mess in the process! Thanks for linking up!

Posted at 10:45h, 21 AprilJess,
What a funny post today regarding your baking on Sunday!
Not realizing you didn’t have cookie sheets made me laugh!
I don’t shop at Costco anymore since it’s just the 3 of us and the sizes they sell are for large families! LOL!
Pretty eyelet top!
Hugs,
Robin

Posted at 11:11h, 21 AprilRight? I really don’t bake, and we used to have cookie sheets, but I think they were old and we didn’t replace. So I ordered from Amazon. I know though, Costco has bulk items! We will be set for years. thank you!

Posted at 15:52h, 22 AprilHi Robin
I had cookie sheets and we threw out the old ones, forgetting to replace! I know Costco really does most in bulk. thank you!

Posted at 21:32h, 20 AprilYour recounting of groceries hunting put a smile on my face, Jess. We live thousand miles apart but having absolutely the same situation here and we lucky if we score toilet paper, a packet of flour or a flue vaccine to have a shot, lol. I really like your outfit, the white shirt brings freshness to the outfit and its easy fit makes it look efortless

Posted at 11:09h, 21 AprilSo true, there has been a shortage of yeast, pizza dough, flour, toilet paper! Thank you! I always love a white shirt jean combo!
Jodie
Posted at 20:45h, 20 AprilThat’s a lot of flour…haha!! I hardly bake anymore, but I was going to make Monkey bread for Easter (before CoVid19 hit) and had to borrow a bundt pan since I’d purged so much when we moved.
I adore a white shirt any time of year. In fact, I almost always update with a new one every spring.

Posted at 11:07h, 21 AprilThank you Jodie! Oh I know, my goodness ! We won’t need flour for years! We used to have some but then they were probably tossed when we moved, and I really don’t bake. But I have wanted to make some things now, so Amazon to the rescue!

Posted at 15:58h, 20 AprilWhite and denim is such a fresh, classic look. Thank you for this reminder.

Posted at 16:00h, 20 AprilThank you for visiting! If it was chillier , I would add my white structured blazer or pink moto jacket.. but a detailed white blouse will be classic. 🙂

Posted at 14:40h, 20 AprilThis white eyelet top is just beautiful! It will get a lot of use this summer. Can’t say the same about 25lbs of flour, whew…that’s a lot of baking to do.
Have a great week!

Posted at 15:20h, 20 AprilHI Nancy
I know! My sister works at Costco and that is what they have large quantities! I couldn’t find flour here at our grocery stores, so we will probably have it for years! lol! I will wear it often in the summer, it is a nice cool cotton!

Posted at 11:54h, 20 AprilI think, nothing beats a white top and denim for the perfect outfit. And this eyelet top is more than perfect!!!
Jess Jannenga
Posted at 11:57h, 20 AprilThank you Rosemary! I just loved the eyelet and scalloping of this top. I bought it last year but have worn it a fair amount already.

Posted at 11:51h, 20 AprilThis is such a perfect spring/summer look. I love eyelet fabric. I know on the flour! My girls and I were thinking “What? Everyone started baking now?” and I read this weekend that one grocery store said their stats were something like they sold flour in 6 wks time that would normally take a year (or two?)! Wish I could find the actual article I read. Another thing I love–scones! I don’t dare make anything that I might binge on!
Jess Jannenga
Posted at 11:59h, 20 AprilThank you! I do love eyelet too- I like white shirts with special details. I guess everyone in the world is making bread or pizza! I couldn’t get pizza dough either. Wow, that’s pretty amazing too! I know it is tempting. I will freeze some of the cookies since there is only the two of us. 🙂

Posted at 11:08h, 20 AprilI think that shade of denim is the pretty with white and I love your outfit so much! I have been using Walmart pick up too and really like it but I wish the shoppers would wear masks. They still get within six feet and they are taking risks being around so many people. I appreciate them so much but also worry for them.
Jess Jannenga
Posted at 12:00h, 20 AprilThank you! I love the classic white shirt jean combo too. Oh, that bugs me too. We do the pickup where they come to the car. I know what you mean!
