It seems we got the Coastal winds on this day when we were talking pictures for the blog. It was like Mother Nature conjured up the setting for our focus of the day- This beautiful handmade clutch from Coastal Clutch NY
Coastal Clutch NY- handmade clutches
I wanted to share with you how the business, Coastal Clutch NY was born. First, the name. Her kids live in Charleston, and she lives in New York, Viola!
MK, the owner and designer recently told me-
“CoastalClutchNY, came about recently, after getting encouragement and great reviews on my sewing and creations from family and friends.
I was sewing pillows, blankets, caftans, wrap pants, (if you remember those from the 70s!), monogramming wristlets, snap purses.
My mother made my very first pocketbook, in the mid 70’s, as I headed to high school, a “hobo” bag. Girls would decorate their bags with metal pins; smiley faces, rainbows, etc.
There is so much inspiration and talent out there, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, magazines. I have always had a love for decorating, beautiful fabrics, vintage costume jewelry, as well as the hunt.
My daughter showcased a few things at her business, Allium, Charleston and the clutches were a favorite! Coastal Clutch NY was born!
I do say to people, I have not created any two identical clutches so, if you see one you like, please ask about it right away.
Since, I took the leap, it really has been fun and quite the learning experience! “
You can find her on Instagram at @Coastalclutchny
She has some Spring Clutches she is showing now in beautiful floral prints and linen designs.
I was quite thrilled when she asked me if I would love to collaborate! I really loved this design, the gold and green spoke to me! The peacock is quite elegant a design. The gold leaf brooch was one I picked as the gold really complimented the clutch very nicely.
The clutch also has a gold chain and can be worn as a cross body. I also love that each one is a unique piece.
I decided to showcase the clutch by wearing a mustard gold dress, a solid shade. I had to incorporate my own vintage brooch, because you know I love em! I just bought a gold chain , I am waiting on, but decided that the brooch would be just enough jewelry for now.
This clutch was gifted to me by Coastal Clutch NY, opinions are mine and truthful.
