Cozy Boots and an Embellished Sweater

Tweed, Embellished sweater and cozy Born boots

TGIF Ladies!

Well, the Blizzard of ’15 hit here in Charlotte and we got 3 inches! I am not kidding, this is serious! Schools and businesses close down. What doesn’t is my ability to present you with a cozy winter look for the day!

My dog’s eyes filled with wonder much like the kindergarten kids I used to teach the first time we had snow! What was that white stuff. I remember Truffles, when we went to visit my mom in Pittsburgh one year. There must have been 12 inches on the ground, and besides not being able to find a patch of grass to go,she went inside and found mom’s green carpeting…problem solved! Now, Gibson doesn’t have that problem, but they do get excited to get their little coats on when they have to go outside. Much like their mamma!

It was cold out there, so I decided to wear my tweed black and marroon flirty skirt, with leather detailing for the pockets. I paired it with a grey cardigan with embellishment of silver beads, which I loved as it made it look vintage and really added to the cardigan itself. Having about 4 wool coats in Charlotte is plenty, ( this is not counting the leather jackets I own) but a light winter coat is really all that is needed, so I wanted to wear my black pea coat with this styling. Lastly, my Born burgundy fur lined winter leather boots were what I needed to complete the outfit and keep my tooties totally warm! Adding my vintage earrings from Etsy, added to my vintage-inspired look.

I am not a cold weather person at all, but I will say, especially when seeing other’s blog posts, the snow does make for pretty pictures.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

Jess xo

As I write this Jess, we are getting more snow and another school day off for my kids. It makes it very difficult to do any photos outside that is for sure! I can’t believe you got snow in Charlotte!! I love your cozy look, especially the burgundy tweed skirt paired with your burgundy boots and handbag! Thank you for linking up with SHOE AND TELL on Style Nudge!

I used to live in New England and have most of my life over 33 years in Massachusetts. I now live in Florida and seeing the snow now makes me kinda miss it. I miss that wintery feel if you know what I mean. That brisk of cold air that hits your face when you go outside. Ahhhhh your post brought me home! As far as your outfit goes I looove the skirt and boots. The skirt is beautiful and love the colors that are running through it. The boots are really neat addition to your outfit. Your outfit together looks awesome! You sure know how to rock it.

I absolutely love your outfit! That skirt looks warm but still fun…not the drudges of heavy, colorless clothes that I suffer in northern New England with miserable winter weather! I love those fur lined winter leather boots too. They are a great color and a must have where I live!

I’m not a winter person, but I’m sure that Charlotte looks pretty with a few inches of snow. Hopefully it will melt soon. Until then, the snow is a great excuse for you to wear your wool coats and those cosy boots.
