25 Jan Me as Fab 40’s Guest Blogger: Embroidery Theme: Gucci S’ 16 Inspired
Hello Ladies
Hope you all stayed warm and cozy during our winter storm here in Charlotte. They close the businesses down and school with the ice and snow we had. I like it as a snow day gives me a chance to catch up on things and cuddle with the pups, drink hot cocoa etc..
When I was asked by Sheela, of Sheela Writes to be the Guest Blogger for the Fab 40s, I was excited and thought it was quite nice to be asked! The subject or topic was EMBROIDERY/EMBELLISHMENT and I was given a few links from Gucci’s Spring collection for Spring ’16. I truly enjoyed looking at the fashion show, albeit some where a bit risqué. We made a few jokes about wearing the looks at home, or perhaps an embroidered tank top would solve any “issues”. I thought about what fun this is to try to create my own version from my closet. I didn’t buy any new pieces and came up with this ensemble.
You have seen these pieces before, just not put together. Hmmm. Now for the handbag. I thought about my collection, and the lightbulb went off! I do have a bag from Charming Charlies that is embroidered. The design is what peaked my interest in buying! One of my favorite skirts with a grassy and floral scene would do, as it looks like the print could be embroidered. One of my favorite finds on Poshmark, this lush green embroidered fitted jacket, bu Anthropologie would make a nice blazer, and my delicate white embroidered blouse from Chicwish added just enough texture and embroidery, embellishment at the collar to be a visual feast.
At least I hope so. Thank you ladies!! I would have loved to paired this with some low block heels, but I am in the market for them. The square block heels with 1.5 inch in height. So, instead I brought out these feminine pointy nude flats. If you are interested in the Gucci fashion show looks that were my inspiration,
Check out the Fab 40’s interpretation on their blogs as well.
LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL AT TOMORROW’S TURNING HEADS TUESDAY FASHION LINKUP!

Posted at 15:40h, 25 JanuaryI must confess, Jess, that when I saw this sweater on your blog, I went to Poshmark and grabbed quite a few Anthropologie pieces myself GRIN very dangerous!! And I’m really glad you found inspiration in the Gucci SS2016 show, is it a fantabulous line-up? So beautiful and romantic and completely out of character for the brand. Just gorgeous, as is your outfit 🙂 thank you so much for being a part of The Fab 40s, Jess!!
