Fashion Inspired by Daisy Jones and the Six

Daisy Jones and the Six is a show on Amazon that inspired today’s bohemian looks.

Fashion Inspired by Daisy Jones and the Six

You can find fashion inspiration wherever you look, and I’ve found it after watching the program, Daisy Jones and the Six on Amazon. It was originally a book, by Taylor Jenkins Reid.                          .

Based to a degree on the relationship of singer Stevie Nicks and guitarist/singer, Lindsey Buckingham .Daisy Jones is a fun, musical journey, with the rise and fall of this fictional 70s band.  So, if you want to see the journey of where they were and how far they got, either watch the story or read the book.

It is about the point of views from the bandmembers, each remembering things a bit differently. Daisy begins as a wistful singer-songwriter wanting to be heard. Wait until you see what emerges!

So, in the 70s, we had bell bottoms, funky prints, loose dresses, wide lapels, halter tops, to name a few. I am wearing a dress with a boho print in pinks, browns, peaches, with a long design. I’m not barefoot, but I’m wearing a sandal in cognac that could have been worn in the day, with platforms and all. My bag has tassels, and to complete the “flower child vibe”, I’m wearing large pink resin earrings. Wood jewelry was also popular- so my watch was added.

The second look is another flowy floral, worn off the shoulder with pretty print. I styled it with a big leather hobo bag, as big bags were in then, and the hobo style popular as well. (I used to carry big bags, but I can find anything in them without digging!) Bohemian is free spirit and flowing dresses, and all those other elements that adds to the 70s feel.

I was talking to a friend the other day about how music and fashion are so intertwined. Studying music and guitar performance at Duquesne University, I have always had a creative spirit. The need to “create”, or express myself, was something I grew up with having taken guitar lessons since the age of 10.

Here I am years later, working in fashion, and the elements are very similar. Putting together a composition, whether it music or fashion, is an art. Evoking emotion, mixing or layering sounds, telling a story. With fashion, I have pattern mixed, created more complex compositions, and certainly dress with a mood in mind.

I studied classical guitar, jazz guitar, but rock music is in my soul.

I restyled this look on Instagram REELS. If you don’t follow me there, I would love if you did follow me on Instagram, as many of the posts are different from my blog.

Flared jeans and wooden platform shoes make for a cool 70s look.  READ ORIGINAL POST.

I loved watching the show just for the costumes. And even reading the book was great.
    Love all the looks, Jess,

I’ve never seen Daisy Jones & the Six but I keep seeing people refer to it on TikTok. I love that era and Fleetwood Mac too so I’d probably enjoy it. I love your boho dresses. My eyes were immediately drawn to the fancy guitar rose, so pretty!
