Fashion: Looking Ahead at Pantone Colors for Fall 2017

Happy Friday everyone.

Today I am sharing some of the colors we will be seeing more and more of as the Fall approaches. Did you know that colors chosen for interior design, fashion, and other aspects are through the Pantone Color Institute? The NY colors are chosen from the designer that they see during Fashion Week.

We have seen maroon, burgundy, wine, various other color descriptors of the same color, return each Fall. Will it be back for Fall 2017?  According to the Institute, it will be called “Tawny Port” this year ( perhaps a bit more brown that red) .

There are two separate color charts for the Fall. One is shown from NY, the other from London. Have you any guesses what other popular colors may be present? I certainly was not a fan of orange back in the day. I associated it with pumpkins, Halloween, etc.. Now, I love the color and its familial counterparts a softer pumpkin spice. rust, does appeal to me and works with my complexion.

Browns, olives and mustard colors always appeal to me in the Fall.  Orange has been popular this season and continues to do so with Pantone’s color Autumn Maple. These colors in various arrangements will be great to pair in the upcoming season and you will see them in shops as well.

I an a fan of the warm tones that both palettes are offering, and this is the first time the Institute has added the London color report . I have already seen a mixing of “Golden Olive” and “Lemon Curry” in stores, warm neutrals where one could add more of a pop of color in “Navy Peony” for example with a bag or scarf.

If you want to keep up with the trends “red” is going to be a hot color for Fall, as you can see with “Flame Scarlett” and “Grenadine”.

Tell me which are your  favorite colors for Fall? Do you prefer one palette over the other?

If you missed my post on Monday, wearing the color “Lemon Curry” and how I styled it, click HERE.
