Favorite Beauty Products -Hair and Makeup Summer Pick Me Ups

Hi Friends!

TGIF! I am ready for the weekend and the cooler days ahead… but what is HOT right now! Let me tell you, some of these makeup and hair products I have bought recently.. ( Like that segway?!) I am not one to jump into hype or the “must have” product of summer ’17, but I do have to tell you I have found some this summer that I love.

( Naked Palette HEAT- Naked 3 palette in affiliate links below)

First, a few years ago I was bitten by the eye shadow bug and must have gone crazy buying shadow duos from NARS. I love NARS as the shadows are beautful unique colors and highly pigmented so they last! With that being said, I don’t buy much eye shadow, as I have a nice collection. However, last year while in NY, I popped in the Sephora and bought the Urban Decay NAKED 3 pallete, as it has soft pinks, and pretty neutral shades, your go-to for the day to day. I, at times, use this exculsively. This summer, a new palette came out by Urban Decay, called HEAT, aptly named as the shades are coppery, burdnt amber, mustard, and reddish-coppery tones, along with bronze shades. I am in love. I have watched a few you tube videos and some were stating the colors weren’t for daily use, but rather a smokey eye night time look.

I might disagree, as I love these shades and my brain is heading into Fall as I speak. I can see all of these in various combinations for those rich fall color palettes. So its a win in my book!

Tarte- liquid lipstick. I received a sample of one of these shades in the mail for my birthday from Sephora, along with a shimmery rose powdered blush. I do like liquid lipstick. So fun to try on, and so difficult to remove! hehe. I had a fun time trying these on at my local beauty brands, lets just say they STAY on. I received this nudish pink color- as a sample. LOVE it , it is soft and natural looking and doesn’t dry out like some brands.  I also bough this coral shade that would look great on any skin tone. In the Summer, I don’t like to wear a lot of makeup, so a bit of foundation and lipstick might be all I wear on certain days.

Smashbox Liquid lipstick– This is very pigmented and a bit more drying that the Tarte, but I love the shade. A spicy rust hue, something different amid all of the pink shades in many liquid lipsticks.

AG Shampoo- THIKK hair . I have fine hair and wanted to try a product to give it more volume. This is great! You don’t feel any sticky residue and you hair appears thicker! Beauty Brands has a sale on this for 16.99 – 1 liter!

AG Thickening Lotion- I use this and my Kerestase heat protection before I blow dry. Again, another thickening product, a little goes a long way.  I found this on AMAZON for a good price! @14.99

So these are just some fun picks and pick me ups that I have discovered recently. What are some of your favorites at the moment?

I’ve linked the items in this post for you!~ If you like any of the items click on the pic below for the link to the product. These are affiliate links.

Have a great weekend!

I love Tarte products but I haven’t tried the liquid lipstick yet – that’s going on my wish list! I have three UD Naked palettes – 1,3 and Smokey – but I prefer my Tarte Maneater palette. The one negative with UD palettes is they do not include enough lighter shades, I hardly touch some of the really dark shades.

      Hi Emma
I know what you mean about the darker shades. I love most of the colors from the HEAT UD palette, there are a few darker shades I probably wont use. The 3rd UD palette is great as there are lighter every day shades there. 🙂 xx

The more I hear about the Tarte brand the more interested I am. I’m going to have to check out this brand!
I would never have thought you have thin hair Jess, it always looks amazing, so the hair products must really work. Have a great weekend xx

Hi Laurie, I should have said “fine” hair, as that is different from thin. Anyway, they do work very well! Tarte is also not tested on animals/cruelty free, so another reason to love it. xx
