05 Nov Gift Guide- Books, Slippers and Cozy Robes
Who doesn’t love curling up with a good book by the family fireplace? I’ve put together a gift guide today for you to check out various books, slippers and robes for that avid bibliophile in your life !
My mom is an avid reader, and my dad would be engrossed in a book a week. They volunteered at the Library and tried to instill a love of books for us when we were younger.
I wanted to pass some of that love of my favorite childhood books to my 4 year old nephew and 3 year old niece. Several of my favorite books were- Where the Wild Things Are, The Giving Tree, Corduroy, and anything by Richard Scary. As children, we would sit for hours looking at all of the animal characters of his books.
When I grew up I remember reading many Stephen King books, as my Dad was a huge fan. Here is Stephen King’s latest book, Billy Summers.
Presently, I am loving Historical Fiction. My mom turned me on to reading Kristin Hannah, and The Great Alone, and from there, this summer I also read, The Nightingale and The Four Winds. I absolutely loved each of these! Not only am I transported back in time, but the history becomes more alive to me.
Since I am also fan of True Crime, I have also read Patricia Cornwell’s books and enjoy a great mystery or thriller.
I am currently starting- The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman .
Now, for the Gift Guide.
Picture yourself or your giftee with a mug of hot cocoa, tea,( I am a tea and “biscuit” girl) or hot apple cider, reading a great book while being cozy from head to toe. Everyone needs some relaxation during the Holidays too! I have THIS robe by Carole Hochman, it is so warm and cozy and under $25!! It comes in a grey color as well.

Posted at 07:26h, 05 NovemberAgreed! Books are a great escape and make for great gifts. Like you, I love to read. I try to make time to do so regardless of how busy life gets. Sure, I may only get one page in but that’s one page closer to finding out what happened in the story. I hope your week is going well so far and happy Friday!
