By now, you know I love prints. I am familiarly fond of florals, but pretty pleased with paisley. Ha!
Vintage looking florals are a favorite as it reminds me of a time gone by, but paisley is interesting to me as the colors blend together to create this unique pattern.
So, I love paisley, but just not fond of it in browns and yellows which would remind me of the 70s. I don’t begrudge anyone if they like 70s fashion, but it isn’t my thing. So, paisley, for me, if done in lovely colors is a print that can be lovely to wear. This dress, by Karina, the Gala dress, I became fond of right away because of the print , the style of a wrap dress, and the colors of oranges, yellow, blue and olive. I try and go with colors that work with my haircolor and skin tone, as well as dresses that would flatter my shape.
The wrap dress, made most popular by DVF, ( Diane Von Fustenburg), is wonderful for most body types, as it wraps and shows the wearers shape, in which I can accentuate my waist, or draw the eye to one of my favorite necklines, the sweetheart neckline. The great thing about this dress, is that I can dress it down with some casual flats or dress it up. You can read about Diane Von Fustenburg, HERE, as she is an icon in the fashion world. According to Wikipedia, “Diane von Fürstenberg, formerly Princess Diane of Fürstenberg (German: Diane Prinzessin zu Fürstenberg born 31 December 1946) is a Belgian-born American fashion designer best known for her iconic wrap dress”
I decided to pair it with these really cool vintage congac boots. I bought these when we were in Asheville months ago for the Film Festival , at the Vintage Moon Boutique, and have yet to wear them. I thought the color would complement the dress well.
Next week I would like to bring up the topic of Resolutions for 2015. I don’t really think of them as resolutions but rather goals I would like to achieve for the year.
I hope you all have a great week,
Thats a “wrap” !!
