09 Aug Lemon Prints Are Particularly Popular in Italy
What can I say? I have Italia “On the Brain”… Why is the lemon print, o Limone so popular in Italy?
Lemons and Italy
Did you know that lemons first arrived in Asia only then to be only then to be cultivated in the Almalfi coast?
I could wear this top there, and fit right in, as the “Land of the Limone” is the Almalfi Coast. You will find much of this fruit in dishes, drinks and more.
If you haven’t ‘tried Limoncello, it is a must! I’m looking forward to trying it straight from the tree! My hubby is checking a bag so we can bring some back.
Amalfi lemons are different from the traditional lemon you would find here in the grocery store. They are larger, their peel thicker and have a very aromatic scent. Not only that, but they are also organic and picked directly off the tree to make those delectable dishes or drinks.
I have a few lemons printed pieces, perhaps that would be just too obvious that I am a tourist?!
Recipe
Another lemon favorite of mine is Lemon Curd. I found this wonderful recipe on The Slow Roasted Italian Website. So, if you love it, give it a go and make it. It’s so good on some pound cake!
My Inspired Outfit
I have had this lemon print top or ( Camicie di Limone) for a few years and thought it apropos to style. It can be worn on or off the shoulder. My favorite pair of Wit and Wisdom wide leg crops and Zara strappy sandals, complete the outfit.
So far we have the VRBO”S booked for Rome and Positano. We also have tickets for the Colosseum tour and the Vatican tour. Tickets for lunch with the Pope. (aha! checking to see if you’re still reading LOL)
High speed tickets to Florence and Positano are also on the agenda.
Are you a fan of lemon prints or have you, yourself worn them in Italy?

Posted at 01:54h, 10 AugustI adore prints with lemons (and cherries). This reminds me of an amusing book I read, “Driving over Lemons” by Chris Stewart. It’s about life in Andalucia. Bet you’re counting down the days until your vacation! x

Posted at 18:55h, 09 AugustI don’t think it would be too touristy to wear this, because it’s fabulous Jess.
We are so lucky to have a lemon tree in our community, and it’s amazing how they are so much better. However, I am not a fan of limoncello, haha. My husband loves it though.

Posted at 08:57h, 09 AugustI do not have any fruit print but lemons are so cute! I do decorate with them in my house in the summer. I am hoping to start wearing my wide leg jeans as the summer winds down. I was surprised to feel comfortable and not hot in them yesterday.

Posted at 05:42h, 09 AugustWow, you are going to have an amazing time in Italy. I recommend a trip to Pompeii too, if you can fit it in.
I have a “fruity” dress but nothing lemony per se. and I too do like you and pull up those off the shoulder Bardot styles to make them into bra-friendly tops and dresses. Just done that with a Monsoon sale purchase, I’m no longer deterred when I see all that bare shoulder one line.

Posted at 05:31h, 09 AugustI’ve only ever had one trip to Italy but one of our best ever – Sorrento, Positano, Capri, Vesuvius and the Amalfi Coast – oh it takes me back! So much left to see it’s making me want to plan!!! Limoncello though never tasted the same once I was home. You’ll have an amazing time!
