Linen Plaid Midi Dress for Summer

Good Morning ladies!

How was your weekend?

How about a picnic? My hubby, mom and I have been heading to local parks for a picnic, as it is easy to social distance and enjoy time outside. When I saw this olive, pink, and lilac plaid linen dress last year, I had to have it! ( I guess I say that a lot!)

Outfit etc.

You have seen me in gingham prints which are another timeless print, and now this larger plaid just reminded of a vintage dress with the back elastic waist gathering and the tie at the waist. The A-line shape ending at mid leg is one of my favorite silhouettes these days.

Ive added olive drop earrings for a light touch of jewelry along with my Nordgreen gold watch. You know I am a fan of linen, and have written about some of my choice finds this summer as well. Just a tip, order some Downy Wrinkle Releaser for a quick spray to get out some wrinkles . They have some made to put in your purse. I’ve worn my white espadrilles as these strappy sandals came after we did photos, and they went well with the casual style here.

I hope you all had a nice weekend and were able to enjoy the outside weather. We went to another vineyard, as my mom feels comfortable keeping our distance and enjoying the beautiful Blue Ridge mountain views.

Funny story though. My hubby who is a tech “nerd” ( and I say that in a loving way!) loves his gadgets! He bought a digital thermometer you bring to your forehead. He took his temp which was normal, and then took mine. I came from the bathroom, as he stuck the device to my forehead noting it was 100.5, and we both looked surprised! I was feeling fine? Here comes the funny part.. he says ” You were just drying your hair, right.” Duh, yes! You know those moments when you go, duh, of course I should have thought of that. So we got a good laugh, once my forehead cooled down. LOL!

Have you bought any linen pieces this summer? What is your favorite dress silhouette to wear right now?

Love the summer plaid dress. I took my temp once after drinking hot coffee and the same thing happened to me. You really need to think about what you’ve done beforehand ☺️

Lovely outfit, Jess! It looks great on you! So glad the three of you have found an activity that is age and enjoyable. We see my mom once a week. Last week she came to our place for 4th anniversary, and we ate at our local Mexican food restaurant here in the village on the patio. (None of us feels safe eating inside.) Glad we had that opportunity because it will likely be too hot for the rest of the summer. It was 108 yesterday.

The dress silhouette that looks best on me, and so is my favorite is an empire waist. And it’s a style I like on most women.

Thank you Michelle! Yes, we joked but we are probably going to hit a vineyard each weekend. We will go out to eat outside as well this week too. We dont feel safe inside either. Sounds wonderful you get to spend time with your mom too, i am sure she enjoys it. Wow! that is hot!!

I love this dress so much! The plaid is extra fun for the summer, as usually the season is all about florals. You must be the most stunning woman at these vineyard events. I’m so glad you are getting out.

That dress is so beautiful Jess! I love the colors and the cut and you wear that style so well. The lace up espadrilles are perfect. Sounds like a nice way to get out – at a vineyard. It’s too hot here to do anything outside except the beach. Glad your mom is with y’all!

Thank you my friend! I loved the vintage vibe and style. The beach sounds fun. We hope to go next year since this year’s vacation was canceled. Mom is staying with us for awhile, especially while all of this is going on.
