Nothing like the feeling of a light silky slip dress to wear to dinner or casually styled, whichever you prefer. This dress, the Gemma Slip Dress, caught my eye straightaway with the color and chic simplicity.

From the Lysse website:

“The bias-cut Gemma Silk Slip Dress offers center-back and front seams, a bra-friendly V-neck and a slim shape that falls softly wider at the hem. Lined with Lightweight Chiffon to the knee, this timeless dress can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with sandals. Add the Stelle Short Sleeve Sweater Top as a light top layer.”

I zoned in on the color right away, noting this warm green, known as Manzinilla on the website, would be flattering to my complexion. If you prefer warmer tones this one is for you. I love how it floats out from the body and also has that chiffon slip built in. Worn more casually, you could style it with slip on sandals, and keep the straw bag. Its vacation time, so this would make a lovely dress for out to dinner. Here I paired it with my German Kabirski asymmetric leaf earrings and Eric Javitz bag that is one of my favorite to carry.

Nothing that I am 5 foot 9 should give you an indication where it hits on me.

Hubby made me laugh in the last photo, as he is my photographer and he kneels down to take my pictures. Getting back up is another story! LOL. I joke and say that there is more snap, crackle, pop after awhile , than in a bowl of rice crispies.

I just love the elegance of the dress and how it could be styled. Wear a denim jacket to give it more of a casual feel and flat sandals. Perhaps add a button down white shirt and tie it at the waist if you are going to be in a chilly restaurant. Add some fun fashionable sneakers or strappy sandals to give it a more casual vibe.

This dress spoke to me because of the drape, the style and the fact that it was a golden with green undertones, all work well with my complexion.

How Was Your Weekend?

Ours was busy and a lot of fun. We have over 75 Vineyards in the NC area, maybe more. I love sitting outside, listening to music, having lunch and a great glass of Chardonay. I am a red wine, dry, girl but in this heat, I don’t want a lukewarm or even room temp warm glass of wine.

We visited Shelton Vineyards, brought the pups, and were told by several people, how well behaved they are. I always feel a bit better when we can bring them places. We had an amazing lunch of chicken salad on a croissant , pasta salad, and my hubby got the strawberry/blueberry gespacho soup. I keep reminding him that we need to make the gespacho soup from Spain when we had the Spanish cooking class. It was out of this world, and he has the recipe!

Sunday we went out early to beat the heat with paddling on my paddleboard and he on his kayak. Visiting several different coves, I just love the scenery, the water and the peacefulness of our surroundings. I came home, only to go down to the pool and continue my fantastic read by Kristin Hannah, True Colors.

What a gorgeous green! That should be one of your signature colors. I have several slip dresses that I feel uncomfortable wearing for a couple of reasons. Fir one, my stomach pooches out in mine, and secondly, they are only strapless bra-friendly. Loving yours. Sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. How fun that the pups can go with you.

You look gorgeous in this slip dress. I love the look but have yet to find one I feel comfortable in. Your weekend sounds lovely! I wish we lived near water. I chuckled at the snap, crackle, pop! That’s my husband for sure!
