Mixing Textures: Jacquard and Tweed- Brown and Camel Styled for Fall

Hello Ladies

This is one of those transitional looks today as the temps cool a bit in Charlotte, NC. It is not as cool as I would like it to be! Well, between hot flashes and warm weather at night, I am ready for that chill in the Fall air, that briskness that allows me to pull the down comforter over my shoulders and cuddle with my pup, Gibson.  I have to work with what I’ve got though! So, where I would certainly wear boots, some an Over the Knee boots with this camel mini, and also throw on some patterned tights, it is not there quite yet.

So, instead I took out my Enzo Angiolini tweed kitten heels, and jacquard floral structured city bag, I most recently bought from Zara, and decided I wanted to style an outfit around them. I wanted to add another print to the mix as when working with neutrals, brown and camel, I thought of my leopard scarf. Combining patterns ( floral and leopard) along with textures ( jacquard and tweed) really sparked my interest for Fall. Now if Mother Nature would comply! Try to give it a go with various textures this season.

What two or three textures for Fall might you mix?

My Vintage Gold and Amber earrings I received for Christmas several years ago. Bought on Etsy!

This is the cute little bag, with straps that I fell in love with on Zara. It has lavendar, olive, rust, brown and other shades .. perfect for Fall.

I love the  bee and dragonfly gold pins on the purse. Gives me an idea to add a vintage brooch here and there as well.

Jess, this is a very pretty outfit. I like the colors on you and I like the way each print makes it’s own statement, but they all seem to go together. The scarf, the bag and the shoes are very eye catching and pairing them with the basic solid background of the brown and tan brings it all together. Love your pretty brooch too! – Amy

I really love the colors of this outfit and that skirt suits you so well! Of course I always love a touch of leopard, too, so your scarf is the perfect finishing touch. Great fall look, Jess!

You always mix and match your clothes perfectly, usually staying in the same color family. But what I always love about your outfits is the attention to detail with all your fabulous accessories and jewelry: like here mixing patterns while still being monochromatic or the addition of the brooch to your scarf to match that of the bag’s. And those tweed loafers are perfect and I would love to own them.

Don’t forget to linkup with me Jess. Also, I did a special feature on you last week on my Thursday Moda. You can check it below. Thanks. =)

I appreciate it, I am going to try and experiment with colors more this fall as I love fall shades. I collect vintage brooches so I love to add a bit of sparkle to wearing a scarf as well. To me this is the perfect example of print mixing—It’s something I would have even put together before blogging….probably because I rarely think about my purse as being part of my outfit ( i do more so now…but didn’t then) and the shoes are right up my alley! And I think it’s easier to mix prints when they are far away from each other—-
    You look absolutely beautiful, Jess!!
The purse seems like a great size too—-what a fabulous buy!

This will be a great look with otk boots, but I do love the kitten heels. And the bag is beautiful! The cooler weather will definitely help the hot flashes…yet another reason to love Fall!
