30 Apr Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
Although I am just a mom to 2 shih tzu pups, I appreciate and value Mother’s Day knowing all that my mom is and has done for us. Just the type of person she taught us to be.
My mom has always taught us that kindness and the way you treat others will reflect who you are. Growing up with 3 other siblings, mom had a lot on her plate, but spent valuable time with us.
You all know that we picked my mom up in Pittsburgh last March, when Covid news was everywhere and much of it confusing. My mom, was home alone, and felt overwhelmed. We have had her at our house for a year and she is doing much better. We are all vaccinated, so that is a major relief for her and us. In this year’s time, I have gotten closer to my mom and enjoyed the time we have had together, even if it wasn’t brought by the best circumstances.
So, in honor of my Mom, and yours, I have created a list of Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day.
As I get older, I find the gift of time, is the greatest gift family can give. Sharing moments talking, cooking, gardening, just being there for one another is a gift in itself. We are taking my mom out to Sanders Ridge Vineyards, and treating her to a Mother’s Day Brunch complete with scenery and wine! Experiences always make great gifts!
If we have learned anything from Covid, we know how precious time spent with loved ones means. I am certainly grateful I was able to help out my mom.
As far as fashion goes, my mom is a casual dresser, it fits her lifestyle. Casual-but-pulled -together, I am always sharing links with her and introducing her to brands that are “her”.
I have put together a list of items that I know my mom would enjoy, and I hope you or your mom may enjoy them as well
Fashion
SOMA pj set– Love the beachy print of these pants with a white cool tee for sleeping.
Cool Nights SOMA robe- very pretty and colorful pattern.
Chicos- Non -iron pleat back tunic- will go with all your summer bottoms. A great white shirt as a staple!
XCVI Iris Crops– comes in nearly 20 colors and they have such unique details! USE CODE elegantly20 for 20% off
XCVI ASTRI pant- a pretty, wide leg style pant with a unique hankerchief hem.
Other gift ideas-
My Mom has a green thumb and has been helping in my garden. She loves to add plants, chimes, other things to add life to her garden
Shimmering Leaf Stakes– a pretty addition to the garden, that sway in the wind.
Gardening Foodable Stool with Tool bag– Realizing that I cant squat to pull weeds, or do other gardening tasks, with my EDS, this bench would come in handy! It could certainly help if you physically have some trouble bending etc.
Muck Boots Rubber Garden Shoes
Perhaps along with these garden ideas, you find mom’s favorite flower and add that to the gift. I recently bought geraniums and they are lovely!
Jewelry- Kendra Scott
Natalie Hoop Earrings- a beautiful textured pair of gold or silver hoops that will be a mainstay in your earrings collection.
Fern Y Necklace- a delicate chain necklace in gold or silver.
Natilie Linear Drop Earrings– a beautiful light blue with gold would be a perfect pair for the beach get away this summer!
Books
I have mentioned the historical fiction book“The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah. Love her writing!
I am soon going to be reading “The Four Winds” also by Kristin Hannah.
I’m always up for suggestions here!
Rose and Sauvignon Blanc Wines
I am a red wine drinker. Love bolder Cabs and enjoy Spanish wines. But we aren’t talking about me here, are we? 🙂
My mom loves a refreshing rose or a crisp Sauvignon blanc, especially as the weather warms up!
Here are a few favroties-
CHATEAU D’ESCLANS WHISPERING ANGEL ROSE– Cotes de Province, France. “Lots of light fruit flavors with a clean finish.”
Angeline Rose-“”Pale raspberry-pink color. Aromas of peach, strawberry, watermelon and grapefruit zest. It’s medium-bodied with bright, tangy acidity. Deliciously fruity and refreshing.”” total wine and more. credit
CHATEAU MONTET SAUVIGNON BLANC, 2018
Beverage Dynamics-France – “”Shimmering with energy, this is a clean dry Bordeaux wine that is racy and loaded with melon and grapefruit notes.
What might you buy or do for your Mom on Mother’s Day.?
Have a great weekend,
Stay Safe,
Jess xx

Posted at 23:28h, 30 AprilI was blessed with the most wonderful mother in the world. I still miss her every day, though six years have gone by since her passing. My hope is that one day I will have even a pinky finger of her goodness. It makes me happy to hear how much you appreciate your mom. You are both blessed to have each other.
