Mustard- A Transitioning Color Into Fall-Seeing the Total Solar Eclipse

Bonjourno!

Good morning. I need to start practicing my DuoLingo program I just downloaded as we are planning a trip to Italy next year. So, there you are, two words. It’s a start! I suppose I could also play my Louis Prima album repeatedly to learn a few more words… 🙂 ” Bona Sera, Senorina, Bona Sera.”  Today I am talking about wearing mustard a popular color to transition to Fall.

It also reminds me of our plans for next Monday. Hubby and I with the pups will be headed to Greenville, NC to experience the  TOTAL Solar Eclipse. Hubby has bought glasses on Amazon for the experience and it should be fascinating! This is a once in a lifetime experience.  We are  going to spend the day there, so I will let you know how it went and share some Greenville pics on my Instagram page or Instastory.

“Turn Around Bright Eyes…

“Turn Around Bright Eyes..” …

Total Eclipse of the Sun… I can hear it now!

Now, onto the clothing of the day. I bought this light, airy, mustard colored maxi dress from H&M last year and I enjoy styling it with metallic accessories. I added my gold medallian shaped necklace by Sylca Designs, gold shimmery earrings from Charming Charlies and my favorite espadrilles for the summer, ( I have showed them last week- they are still available).

September in Charlotte NC can still be pretty warm. Last year it was in the 80s and 90s. If it is a bit cooler later in the day, one could style this with a long cardigan, a duster for a long, flowy look and a pair of booties.

I’ll be sharing a post on Friday that talks about the Pantone Colors for Fall.  This year, they released two separate color pallets: one from the NY and one from London. London has a color in their palette called Lemon Curry, which is this color to a tee.

How would you wear mustard or lemon curry? 🙂 Stop by Friday to see just how the various colors from the Institute could complement this color.

Outfit: Dress H&M last year: Love this dress for Fall in mustard

Shoes ( exact pair)

necklace- Sylca Designs

straw bag (love this and this)

You look so pretty in that color. This yellow is a great color for fall and the Pantone palettes definitely have a fall feel to their color choices. How fun that you are going to see the Total eclipse. I don’t even know if we’ll be able to see it here in Ohio. I think we might be under the clouds. Be sure to take lots of pics! – Amy

You look absolutely fabulous in mustard yellow. It’s such a great colour for fall. Hope you have fun watching the solar eclipse. Be careful with the glasses purchased from Amazon, apparently there is a recall on some of the glasses that were sold on their site.

Beautiful dress, Jess! BTW, I just heard on the news that Amazon is giving refunds on some of the solar eclipse glasses they sold because of counterfeit glasses so you might want to check on the brand you bought and protect those beautiful eyes!

I just adore yellows – all shades. I think they can be so flattering when it’s a colour that so may tend to avoid. You look absolutely gorgeous, Jess. That mustard looks stunning on you, it really complements your hair colour too!

I do too Suzy! I think many women stray away from yellow as that are afraid that it wont work with their skin tone.. but this mustard or lemon curry color is a very warm shade! Thanks so glad you like the outfit. I would love to find a mustard yellow fall dress… im looking! xx
