Pantone Color of the Year -2022 Very Peri- Home and Fashion

Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2022, is Very Peri, a beautiful periwinkle blue.

Pantone’s Color of the Year- Very Peri

Encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time possessing a violet-red undertone, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.”   Pantone Color Institute

I am always a little excited each year to see what the Pantone Institute researches through the global study of fashion, art, entertainment and film. It has been a driving force for color in fashion, home furnishings and design.

This is such a vibrant and lovely color intertwining purple and blue together

“Periwinkle represents serenity, calmness, winter, and ice. It can also symbolize blossoming friendships, sentimental memories, and everlasting love.” source, Canva.

Such a peaceful color. I am sure we could all use a little periwinkle in our lives right now.

Since the Pantone Color of the year is often reflected in home decor and fashion, I thought I would give you some options to shop if you are looking to add this color to your home or closet.

I’ve been shopping my closet more this Winter but have been looking at sprucing up our deck and outdoor area. And I love to change up my flowers in the house each season, so this would be a great time to add some periwinkle dried flowers to the kitchen or dining table. I will also add artificial flowers here and there, so I don’t have to keep up with everything. These PERIWINKLE BLUE RANUNCULUS are lovely and would look great in a pretty ceramic vase.

What is also wonderful about this color having these purple undertones, is that choosing a complimentary purple shade like a lavender, would combine nicely in the home as well.

HOME DECOR

You can certainly find ideas on Pinterest for how to use any color in Home Decor. Periwinkle is no exception. I came across these examples

I love the mix of patterns here, the accents with the lamps and the walls in periwinkle.

From Good housekeeeping, the mix of checks and florals plus the periwinkle color in an accent wall is so lovely. Perfect if you don’t want your whole room this shade, but want to accent the wall behind the bed, giving it a focus or eye- catching quality. The navy window treatments are the perfect mix here, as the color itself has blue in it.

Below I have curated some periwinkle home decor to shop or browse.

FASHION

I first wrote about Periwinkle blue on the blog in 2015, when I wore a periwinkle top with cream mini in this post-Turning Heads Linkup and Periwinkle Blue.  Both my top and my Brahmin bag were this lovely shade. I still have these pieces in my closet 🙂

I also wore a periwinkle midi dress with sneakers in THIS POST.

As Spring fashion emerges, more and more periwinkle will be seen.

Below I have curated some fashion pieces for you to shop.

One of my favorite colors. And thanks for the link to silk flowers – I also have trouble keeping up with real ones, and don’t know why I didn’t think of such a great idea!

It’s such a beautiful color! I can’t wait to start seeing more of it in stores as it can still be tricky to spot.

I think it’s a beautiful colour! And wouldn’t it look amazing with my favourite colour, green? I’m not sure I would paint my walls very peri, but I would certainly have some key accents in it.

Loving the periwinkle both in fashion and home decor.. In our Las Vegas condo our bedroom was painted a dark periwinkle. I think I’m going for purple this though. Your periwinkle fashion is lovely!
