Pantone Color of the Year 2025- Mocha Mousse

gg

A soft brown, evoking the color of coffee or chocolate is the  Pantone color of 2025. Mocha Mousse.

Who can say no to chocolate or a creamy cup of coffee? You know how both of those make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

Well, in 2025 those warm, creamy shades of brown will be seen in the interior design capacity, as well as fashion. So you can wear this elegant, comfortable shade.

This past Fall we saw colors of dark brown, rich dark chocolate shades in a Fall palette. Soon, we will see a lighter shade of brown in accessories, clothing, and paint for your wall.

Do you look for those pieces when you hear the color of the year? Do they go best with your complexion, your hair?

These are things to consider if you want to incorporate the Color of the Year.

“For Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others.”

Laurie Pressman

Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute

Reading about the Color of the Year, it is described as comforting, relaxed elegance, wellness.

Two color palettes are presented- Relaxed Elegance

A soft and tonal color palette, which combines different shades of creams, browns and tans.

If this palette reminds you of the brand, Skims, you wouldn’t be alone. If you are a more “warm toned” person, several of the browns will work here, especially Mocha Mousse. Try combining some of these tones for sophisticated neutral look. Don’t want to go “all in?” There will be accessories in these colors as well to add to your look.

and Floral Pathways- another soft palette with several greens and light pastel colors of Cornflower Blue, Viola, and Rose Tan.

What’s Goin’ On-

Well, we are headed today to Harleysville, PA, north of Philly to visit my hubby’s mom. So, I planned to prepare several blog posts and will be back the following week. Gibson, my pup, seems a bit clueless when it comes to his “sister” but perhaps that is the best. I don’t know how certain dogs react to loss.

Here is the Urn/Necklace I purchased. They engraved Truffy’s face and wrote her name. On the back, I had them write, “I Love You Babygirl.” I can’t bring myself to put the ashes in yet but have been wearing the necklace daily.

SHOPPING LINKS

Here are just some examples for you to shop of the color you will see in interior design, but here foremost, fashion. i have curated some items that I think you might enjoy with the color tones of Mocha Mousse and it’s palette. Huh. I have seen mocha mousse now on several blogs. Will be interested to see how long it takes to get to El Paso and if it ‘catches.’ I look better in warmer colors – I think!!?? Not sure how this color would look on me but I like the palette you shared with the other brown tones. Have never been one to refuse a color because it doesn’t look good on me!! Ha!

Love that you purchased a necklace for Truffles and that she will always be beside you, Our pups and kitties are on a shelf in my loft. We are going to sprinkle my mom and dad this summer but I would love to have a necklace to keep a bit of them with me. And my daughters have asked for a bit of grandma and grandpa, too.

Hope your trip to visit your MIL was safe and she enjoyed seeing you guys.

Thank you so much Leslie. Yes, I prefer warm colors as well,so a mixing of browns may be in order. There are softer warm colors int he palette if you prefer. Yes, I have the necklace engraved, and I have to put some of her ashes in . I understand with the pups and kitties, that is tough. I too want to get A necklace for my dad, and sprinkle dad over Scotland and later Ireland, since we arent totally sure about heritage. He always wanted to visit those places thought.
I appreciate your thoughtful comments Leslie.

I love all your Pantone picks! I’m not exactly inspired by this color, but at least it goes with everything!

As usual, Pantone are not specific about the color of the year. They’s chosen a soft brown which is either coffee or chocolate, it can be warm or cool and it’s always a bit vague! Even the mug at the top of the page is a completely different shade from the box it sits on. Anyway it gives manufacturers plenty of leeway when it comes to creating merchandise as any middle of the road soft brown will do!
Your necklace is very pretty and I do hope it gives you some comfort Jess.

I doubt I’ll be purchasing much in this color. It really doesn’t suit me that well, but I did like it with the florals. It just seems a strange color for spring (even though it’s for the entire year). When our last two Westies passed, we had them cremated and returned to us. They will be mixed in with us, and then I guess the kids will have to decide what to do with all of us. I really need to make a plan. I love your necklace, and I think it will bring you so much comfort. Hugs…
