Hi Ladies!

Here we are Wednesday, does it feel like half the week has gone by? Well, as promised, I am showing you styling of the color palette red and black. Today I am wearing my sheath dress from Ann Taylor and I hope you enjoy the Plenty of Poppies in the Pretty Print.. now say that tongue twister ten times fast…

I am attracted to certain dresses by their style but often times by their print. This is what happened when I came across this dress at Ann Taylor last year. The dress SPOKE to me! When I shop in stores ( I do most of my shopping on line) I need to be drawn in by an item of clothing.. I need to be DAZZLED! I can’t just buy anything.. so that is what it did! I swear, I have the good angel sitting on my shoulder and the bad little devil on the other, whispering in my ear. Good Angel” Jess, look at that print! It is so vibrant and bright, and you know how much you love red and florals, buy it… you will wear it often.” Then the little devil chimes in, ” Yeah, buy it Jess, who knows when you will come across it again, and they will probably run out of it in your size….” Ok, so I end up listening to both of them!!

This dress reminds me of fields of poppies, some of which I see on the roadside in NC. I will say one thing about our roadways and that is, there are pretty flowers everywhere. So, I did listen, and fell in love with the dress, even though I did not own many sheath dresses in my closet. I also love vintage or vintage like jewerly and for that, I turn to Etsy or 1928. This necklace is a one of a kind piece from a woman who sells vintage jewerly on Etsy, and I loved it, the red jewels and design. I also decided to pair it with a pair of pearl like earrings, and I love earrings that dangle, probably because of my long hair. I added the thin belt with the bow, as I am lovin everything with bows lately, wish my shoes had some! The pointed kitten heel completes the look. Hope you liked this red and black pairing!

    First of all peonies are one of my favorite flowers and this print is adorable. The dress looks amazing on you and I love the vintage jewlery with the whole look. You look fab!

    That dress is so pretty and it´s perfect with your black structured bag and flats! I love poppies, they usually grow here along the roadside. They´re called amapolas here in Spain. 🙂
