Sheer Tropical Tunic/ Jean Shorts and Black Leather Sandals

Good morning Friends,

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We have actually had a Spring this year, as in some years in Charlotte, Spring just melds into Summer, and Summer temps! It is going to get hotter this week, however, I am ready to take a dip in the pool anyway!  We were busy this weekend and enjoyed seeing the Charlotte Symphony Pops perform classic jazz tunes, while sipping wine and enjoying dinner outside.

I thought I would talk about some items you may want to have in your summer closet that you will wear over and again. I bought this sheer tunic with this pretty tropical print from Zara and thought I would be able to style it in many ways. I am wearing it here with a pair of denim shorts and a red tank. Everyone has their comfortable length when it comes to wearing shorts, so you could wear a beautiful olive “walking short” that came lower to the knee if that was more your comfort level. These are boyfriend denim shorts and I just find them comfy to wear.

I will also be styling this tunic another way on the blog, as this is just an easy breezy casual look, with these Marc Fisher leather sandals I scored on Poshmark for $50! If you were interested in wearing a walking short, but wanted to lengthen you legs more, a small block heel, mule, or espadrille would look lovely with this outfit. So, stay tuned to a more dressed up way to wear this tunic!

In addition, I have thought,“Why not wear it as a beach cover up?” I have several bathing suits, tankini, bikini and a black one piece you will see here on the blog. It would make a light, perfect coverup for the beach, keeping with this tropical theme and also covering enough for sun protection. So, when you look at a garment, try and think of various ways you can wear it!  Its always great to make your money go farther!

Tell me, Do you think of how many ways you can wear a garment, before you buy it?

How would you wear this tunic?

Let me know in the comments section. I love receiving comments, and appreciate your time.

Thank you Nicole! It is actually a tunic and sheer with slits on the side. You could certainly wear over a dress, or as I mentioned. I could very much see you in this print! xx

Jess, I love how you styled this with your shorts. I’m not much of a shorts wearer, but this is really cute. Love the print on that top. So pretty. – Amy

Gorgeous topper, Jess! I’d likely wear it with Bermuda shorts, or a straight denim skirt. You look marvelous as always, xox

Speaking of the tropics, I’m typing this from Singapore at the moment and let’s just say the weather isn’t all too dissimilar to the inside of an oven. I could do with a tunic like yours now, Jess 🙂 and on that note, I LOVE your clutch. So fun!!!

I love this outfit! That Kimono will be a staple in summer! I have a very similar clutch and can’t believe how much I use it in the summer. Peace!

Thank you Cheryl! I was seeing kimonos and tunics on people and really liked the look. It will work well as a coverup for a bathing suit and other ways. I know, I have used this clutch so much as well! xx

You guys do the funnest things on the weekend, Jess! Heck…we started a home remodel job and it’s dusty like no get out around here–ugh!!
I love making sure a piece is super versatile. But I have to admit, I don’t always think about it until I’ve already bought it!! Maybe because I’m trying not to have buyer’s remorse? Ha ha!

Thanks Jodie, it was an extra busy weekend this time, but we try and go out when we can. Well, just think how nice everything will look when its done. We are looking to paint our 2 story Greatroom etc.. so then its all about the house. I know what you mean with pieces, I don’t always do that either, but try to these days as I want pieces to my closet that are going to be worn often. xx
