18 Feb Shopping My Closet – Tweed and Suede for Winter

Morning Ladies
Even though the Punxatawney Groundhog, Phil, said there will be an early Spring, and I have posted on Friday, about the Pantone Color Institute’s Spring/Summer colors, its still cold and we are still diving into our closets for Winter wear.
Today I am sharing a look, (many pieces are secondhand, from Poshmark), with a favorite tweed jacket, jeans, and tall boots.

Neutrals and My Outfit
My style varies from wanting to wear lots of color to more subdued neutrals. What I encourage, when you wear neutrals, istry styling one piece that is textured. Today, I chose my tweed Banana Republic ruffled blazer ( from poshmark) wore a metallic brown pullover from Mango underneath. If there is not much texture in the neutral outfit, you can add a textured bag for a more interesting look. Brahmin, makes beautiful handbags, and I will often wear it for a more textured look.
My jeans are AG, and feel like soft flannel pj pants, when I put them on. They fit like a dream and are a brand I recommend. I bought them for a steal secondhand, at $45, when they cost $180 or so on Nordies. The downside however, is you can’t return on Poshmark, so you have to know things fit. I was lucky and ordered my regular jean size. If you are new to the blog, and don’t know about Poshmark, read- What is Poshmark and How Do I Shop There?
I chose to bring out the tweed brooch I bought years ago, however, if I wanted more color or pattern, I would add a colorful or patterned neck scarf to this look.

Do you love tweed? Have you done more shopping your closet this Winter?

Posted at 08:39h, 22 FebruaryI like tweed very much but I don’t think I have any! What an oversight. Love the outfit and brooch. Phil was right as far as the UK is concerned – spring seems to be here, although we had snow last March so things could change! Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday Jess.

Posted at 11:22h, 18 FebruaryHi Nancy!
These pieces are a few years old, but yes! I Know what you mean. The metallic dark brown sweater I am wearing underneath is light enough to wear in the spring, and the Institiute is showing dark brown, so there may be more pieces. xx
