Happy Friday Ladies
I took a few Fridays off recently, as I needed a mental break. Typically in the summer, we go on a summer vacation, but as you know, everything has been canceled. I would take off the blog, a week during the summer just to recharge. So, a few Fridays here and there is what has become my “break” this year.
Birthday Celebration and Shorts for the Summer
I know everyone is dealing with this Pandemic in their own way, there are days I feel sad, other days I feel angry, and yet I continue to stay informed and talk about it at our morning breakfast table on the patio. We are doing the best we can, and worry doesn’t help, but sometimes its all you’ve got. I am grateful I have my family and my dogs to get me through the days.
We have had a few “quasi-normal” outings over the past several weeks, which puts your spirit a little higher, lifting it a bit. We have gone to sit and enjoy lunch by The Lake, noting the waitresses not wearing masks even though an ordinance was going to be passed that evening. Nonetheless, we sat apart in tables and enjoyed a nice meal together. Two other times, we have gone out to be the only ones sitting outside eating lunch, finding the “sweet spot” in the afternoon.
Had a great day for my Birthday, the Big 5-2! My hubby bought an amazing strawberry cream cake and bought a beautiful card. My sister and niece came up to enjoy some cake and celebrate. She got me the cutest doggy Birthday balloons, a lovely card. I received a new Lenovo laptop computer as a combined gift from my hubby and mom. I look forward to working on a faster computer, as my old one was such a monster and was quite slow! I have decided to save my Birthday sinner for next week when we will order curbside at a favorite restaurant with amazing seafood, Fig Tree.
So, I continue to write about fashion, something that brightens my days, and feeling good is important now just as anytime.
Are you a shorts wearer, and what length do you prefer?
I always feel that it is a personal choice, what works for your figure, and what you feel most confident in. I myself, prefer more of the 4inch inseam.
4 inch shorts- show more of the leg and are a modern style.
6 inch shorts are midrise and offer a more modest look. I love the flat front for a structured look.
8 inch inseam– are more like bermuda shorts and offer a lady a cooler style with a classic sillouette.
10 inch inseam– these are the Bermuda style short. More coverage but you still love the style of a short.
Paper bag Shorts
Paperbag shorts with a fabric tie can be dressed up or down.
Pull on Shorts
An easy pair with an elastic waist and olive color. Mix and match neutrals with these.
Ruffled Shorts from Nordstrom. Comes in polka dots and floral. A ruffle at the leg give these a feminine feel.
Cotton twill shorts in camo keep you cool and have a bit of stretch for movement.
Striped Linen Shorts will keep you cool in the heat!
Have a good weekend!
