Soft Surroundings Long Leopard Dress

Hi friends!

You know by now I don’t shy away from the leopard. I have a few dresses in leopard print, not to mention ruanas, scarves, cardigans. Its one of those prints that stands the test of time. Classic. This long dress from gifted to me by Soft Surroundings has a tint of cobalt blue in it, which makes it a bit different from other leopard prints I own.

My Outfit

What makes leopard look good, is the material and quality of the garment.  Some people can shy away from leopard as they think it looks “cheap” . Again, it all comes down to the fabric. Pick quality pieces and they will last and carry over year after year. How else could I style this dress? Well, leopard is neutral and the cobalt blue in the dress certainly lends itself to wearing it as a duster with dark denim. Add a cami with dark jeans and leave this dress opened and you have a new look!

I do love the look of rich browns, and by adding the leather knee boots ( Jambu) thick leather belt and my favorite textured Brahmin bag, you can create a luxe look. The dress does come with a slip and I am happy to say it is a longer one that reaches my knees! Often times when I get a dress with a built in slip, the slip isnt very long!

And you can’t get a manicure in time? Wear leather gloves! That’s my little trick! 🙂

Weekend

We had a fun time this weekend as there was sun! It was about 55 degrees and on Saturday we took the pups and drove an hour to our favorite vineyard. They had a Marti Gras event complete with gumbo, king cake and wine! Yes, yes and yes! It was a little chilly but I can honestly say, that since I am near menopause, I don’t feel as cold as I used to! I was dressed for the weather and enjoyed listening to the Cajun band they had while enjoying the company of my hubby and pups. I needed to get out as Winter can be tough!

Oh my word, Jess, this dress is magnificent! I love the style of the dress and the hints of cobalt blue really make it stand out. The way you have styled it is brilliant as well. The wide belt is so great and I am dying over that gorgeous handbag. Thanks for linking up with me!

      Thanks so much friend,
I can see me wearing it with a pair of dark denim – open as a duster. That is my favorite handbag. I bought 2 of these types of belts at Mango and wil look for a wider black belt this summer.

Love the hint of blue in the leopard, so pretty and adds something special! I love that bag too Jess! Your weekend sounds fun! I saw a King Cake at Publix yesterday and was tempted to buy it but I’d end up eating the whole thing myself probably! Ha!

Thank you my friend, it does add something new . I am looking at another Brahmin bag but probably won’t wask for it until my summer birthday. The weekend was a lot of fun! I love bringing the pups to the vineyard and just hanging out listening to music. They did have king cake there, it was good! I know what you mean though!
