04 Aug Soft Surroundings Saunterre Dress Palm Maxi

Hello ladies,

You all know I am a big fan of Soft Surroundings. So, when they asked me to choose something from the summer selection, my eyes went straight for this dress.

Outfit

I’ve grown quite found of gold cuffs and gold bracelets. This layering cuff gold bracelet set was gifted to me along with the dress. I love mixing and matching gold bracelets, and have a larger cuff c/o Soft Surroundings, and a few delicate ones from Kate Spade I like to wear. I can choose to wear as many as a like, or few. I have been gravitating toward more simple jewelry and am wearing a layered gold necklace that I wear everyday.

The dress, called the Saunterre Dress was gifted to me by Soft Surroundings as it jumped out on the screen when I was looking for summer dresses. I thought the dress was heavier, but when I receive it, I was quite pleased. Substantial enough but not heavy. The material is very soft, like wearing your favorite nightgown. The lime green pattern is a palm leave and I love how it mixes with the blue hues in the dress. I could see ladies with silver and white hair wearing this striking dress! I am wearing an XS for reference, this is my usual size at Soft Surroundings/

I again, chose a neutral strappy shoe to dress up the look. I prefer a heel with a maxi dress, whether it is in the form of an espadrille or leather sandal.

Weekend Fun

I mentioned yesterday that we had alot of fun over the weekend with family, still following social distancing rules and wearing masks. We celebrated my niece’s 10th Birthday and my Mom’s 76th birthday. I ll share some photos here of the party. We sat outside, our immediate group on the deck, with my brothers, sister and sister in law under a canopy distancing as well. We enjoyed an amazing Lemon cream birthday cake for mom and my niece wanted a “Black Panther cake.” Fun was had and I had to pull a little joke on my niece. Several of us pitched in for an Egg chair, which is a wicker chair on a stand that is shaped like an egg. She wants to put it on the patio. Well, that afternoon I boiled an egg, and had a little Boyd’s Bear chair ( with a bear on my piano). I put the chair and egg in a bag with tissue paper. She opened the bag and was a bit befuddled at first, so we told her “she got her “egg chair”! I then gave her the picture of her real egg chair coming this week. I love teasing her! It was a great time, one of those days that makes you savour the moments in this hard time.
